Exactly.. I don't see why so many Flames fans are so confident with this match up, or even if we played Nashville. We're so used to first round failures, we're almost like Leaf fans.
Because I don't care to be pessimistic, and it is no fun nervously warning others about failures from the past. Live in the moment and enjoy yourself.
Flames in five.

When it was looking like the Flames would end up playing the Predators, I was pretty zen about the result. Nashville is a decent team, have played the Flames tough the entire year, and would NOT be an easy out.
However, now that it's Dallas? I hate them and am gonna be so mad if the Flames lose.
The weird emotional rollercoaster that is sports fandom, I guess!
Oh please, the flames just finished their 2nd best season in franchise history, we’ve looked strong all season long, we’re healthy, we have good top end talent with playoff experience, great goaltending, good depth, solid defence.
Only an absolute self loathing pessimistic lunatic would even dare think the Flames shouldn’t win. It’s never a guarantee but flames fans should be feeling good going into the playoffs.

Dallas is the only team in the playoffs with a negative goal differential and have the fewest regulation wins of any playoff team.
They are the weakest of all the playoff teams IMO. If the Flames play their game they shouldn't lose to them, and if they do lose to them they should feel shame.
The regular season is irrelevant.
Benn, Seguin and Radulov coasted through the regular season, but will show up for the playoffs, so they have 2 good lines. And they have two very good puck moving, play driving defensemen.
They are experienced, and that matters in the playoffs. And most of all, they are dirty as ####.
I expect some Benn shenanigans in game 1, getting the Flames off their game. I expect the Flames to take over and win the series, but it will not be anything close to the pushover some of you expect.

I don't know about Benn, Seguin, and Radulov magically turning it on in the playoffs. They looked cooked a lot the regular season games I saw with them. It didn't look they were checked out, it looked they were just regressing.
Nashville series also would have been way rougher I think. Still would have preferred them cause of the goalie situation though.

Seems like a lot of overconfidence going on in here. People calling for a Flames sweep?
Dallas is the team that beat the Flames, Avalanche, Knights and took the Lightning to 6 before losing the Cup finals in 2020. They have the experience on what it takes to get to the finals.
This will be a battle, maybe I'm bigtime scarred from all the Flames first round playoff failures but this Dallas team cannot be taken lightly at all.

Benn, Seguin and Radulov are not the players they once were and aren’t going the flip a switch. Especially Benn and Radulov. I mean, Radulov had 22 points in 71 games this year and only four goals. That’s poor. He’s not going to have a large impact and won’t figure much into this series. Benn has flashes where he uses that big frame well and he still has got a great shot but he can disappear in games as well.
I have the Flames in 5, but don’t think it will be a push over by any stretch. The games will be close but I have a hard time seeing Dallas getting the best of Calgary in more than one game.
Top six (large edge to Flames)
Bottom six (large edge to Flames)
Top pair (even/slight edge to Flames)
Bottom 4 (large edge to Flames)
Special teams (large edge to Flames)
Goalie (moderate edge to Flames)
Coach (massive edge to Flames)
This isn’t going to be much of a series. Flames in 4.
If it was won on paper, we wouldn't have to bother playing the games.
