It was definitely a penalty, but context matters. I won’t get into detail, because it’s pretty obvious why people would think the way things went was (extremely) questionable.

The NHL has a business it pushes and it isn’t the sport in pure form that’s for sure. I am generally, personally okay with some of that but the NHL is letting things get out of control now.

Similarly the contrast between playoffs and regular season is getting bigger each year. It’s too bad because it’s not being reflected in support and if anything their business plan is working.

Takes some real kahones to fight back down 2 - 0 in the fifth game in seven nights, on a B2B with travel. They looked tired at times but came through and got a well deserved point.

A point is a point. I'm good with it. Would have rather had the W, of course.

With the Flames luck I wouldn't be surprised if that's a broken foot or something for Hanifin. Hope not, but wouldn't surprise me.

The whistle was already blown for a bad offside call

I sure as hell don't want Vegas.

Doesn't matter if they've been terrible against nearly every team, their swagger against the Flames was still notably alive and well.

If you are suggesting that the on-ice officials are coached or encouraged to call the game towards a predefined outcome... That's something beyond my comprehension.

As for RS vs playoffs. That's a thing and pretty much is at every level of competitive hockey.

He was on the bench for the Shootout so I doubt it was that bad

Nashville. They have mustaches and beards, but that's about it.

Good news. Last I saw was him limping down the walkway to the dressing room.

This new "review the play for penalties after it was called dead" thing needs to end before it starts.

Back linesman called the penalty as the offiside was blown down. Go watch the replay again.

Blocked a onetimer nicely on the PK in OT. He hobbled off but it looked like your standard soreness after a block to me.

They could have just chose to let it go too like they did when Backlund was tripped. They called offside so it's not like the Flames could have scored. But it's all about trying to be the show.

The penalty on Mang was worse than pathetic, he wasn't trying to hit that Preds player, they just ran into each other and Mang got called interference?

How often do they call too many men for a guy a couple feet on the ice for 2 seconds before the other guy is off not effecting the play at all

Almost never

Every line change is like that and they dont call it unless a guy touches the puck or joins the rush.

can't totally compare across eras of course, but with the point, this iteration sneaks past 05-06 and now is only behind 87-88,88-89 and 2018-2019 in points at 104

Yep; it looked like he took it right in the side of the calf, so I would think (hope) it's just going to be sore tomorrow.
