Y'all laugh as much as you want. I can't hear you because I'm already smugly driving away while you're still getting your kids and gear into an SUV that's every bit as ugly as my van.

This might also have to go in the gear grinder thread; can we have at least one ####ing day where there isn’t a crap ton of salt thrown on the roads due to a small skiff of snow? My dark car is now two-tone white from the door handles down.

Been checking out the Hyundai Elantra Hybrid as a town runaround.... Any experience here or is this just a sign that I've given up on life?

The Elantra is fine, but you should probably book an appointment with Dr. Rick sooner than later:

That's brutal. Interesting, I never knew Canada didn't have its own 'lemon law', and instead you had to go through CAMVAP.

Gotta do what that one guy on Beyond did with his Challenger years back. Cover it in stickers that said 'EASTSIDE DODGE SOLD ME A LEMON' and parked it right in front of the dealership. They were willing to negotiate with him after a few days

That sounds like the typical buying experience for Jaguar or Land Rover. British cars aren't very reliable.

I find it so funny that people will do reliability research on household appliances or only buy Amazon goods with 4+ star ratings but when it comes to a +$50 purchase they run right to a prestige badge without even bothering to check reliability.

https://www.jdpower.com/business/pre...lity-study-vds

A simple check would show that most consumers would be best off avoiding British and Italian made vehicles.

Purple is a great car colour until it gets dirty, which is pretty common around these parts. It shows dirt so poorly, which is too bad.

^ To say nothing of black, which is one of the most popular paint options and definitely shows dirt and paint marring with ease. I’d happily take that Mustang purple, looks really good.

Other than reaching out to CBE high school programs and SAIT (which i've) done, is there anywhere that trains auto body students that accept donor cars for inexpensive work for training?

15yr old buogh a car and it has some rust areas, needs bondo on rear 1/4 panel and some sanding and repainting. mechanically I can do other repairs but not body work.
