I’m looking forward to this postseason. A little nervous, but I’m looking forward to it nevertheless.

Yes they do, and yes it's ridiculous. Apparently there is some other sports channel that has a contract with the NHL to show games (with a subscription to that channel, of course) and for that reason, Centre Ice and Gamecentre in the f'ing UK is blocked.

Nonsense like that is why I preach the word of Mario Lemieux's site.

There's a small sports subscription channel called Premier sports that has the contract to show NHL games in the UK, so any game they televise is geo blocked.

All that does is penalize travellers. I can’t imagine there is a worse service than NHL centreice, so it’s not like they’d be battling for customers.

I’m hoping for Dallas. Nashville is in the same mold as Calgary. A big physical team. While Nashville would make for a great series , I could see which ever team came out if it battered and bruised.

I've begun the process of trying to convince my partner that a weekend trip to Nashville should be in the works!

So Flames magic number to clinch the division is 2.5 games. Flames have 3 games in next 4 days, while Oilers play once. Good chance to have the division mathematically clinched by Thursday night.

It’s technically 3, until either:

Calgary earns a single regulation win,

Or

An Edmonton game even goes to overtime.

If either of those things happen, then it will be as if it was 2.5 now - which is near certain of course.

In short, we win a tiebreaker against Edmonton unless they win all 6 games in regulation, AND we go 2-4-1, 1-3-3, or 0-2-5 (
Any of those three without a regulation win)

This is my case. I'm a good little corporate consumer at home, paying my dollars for the product. But I travel a lot for work and I can't use my same subscription on my devices.

I have to use Mario's site.

and the odds of that happening are more than 10 million to 1

As hot as stink-eye has been on his little run, Edmonton won't run the table. 2-3 points probably locks this up, realistically. But hopefully we can end it mathematically by Thursday.

It's about the same odds as getting a royal fizzbin.

Or maybe at worst by Friday.

Flames get 4 out of 6 points and Oilers get 2 points out of 4.

Things like this, combined with terrible broadcasting talent and structure, abhorrent officiating across the board, and the scumminess of the NHL as an organization, makes me happy to steal their product.

Hockey entertains me. I’m happy to flip the bird to the league itself until trash like those in the Blackhawks org and I’m sure many others are gone and forgotten.
