Given how subjective voting for individual trophies is I'm past really caring.
Its nice when one of your players surmounts the odds and wins one considering everything they've got going against them, but if they dont?
Its no real skin off my back.

Honestly, if Iginla didn't win neither will JG. Just the way it goes playing in a small market.

Matthews
Huberdeau
Gaudreau
In that order after voting is my guess.

I hope he's a finalist. That's about it.

Johnnys gotta be a favourite, McDavid has Draisatl and Huberdeau is on a more stacked team. If he closes out at 2 ppg he’s 50/50 with Josi/Makar

You left out the two favourites: Matthews and Shesterkin.

The plus minus and even strength points should do it but not when a Leafs player is breaking that teams mediocre records.
Hart might not be the best thing when it comes to contact negotiation for the Flames anyway.

Matthews will win, he plays in the centre of the hockey universe. Gaudreau should be the choice though imo. If he played in the East he would win.

It’s been given more recently to the player judged not the most valuable but the best.

I think the obsession with the distinction is kinda dumb though. I don’t think the MVP award should be a debate over semantics about word definitions.
The award should go to the best player in the league in that particular year.
If it really were the most valuable, it would go to a goalie every single year.

Shesterkin - 50gp - 205 GAA - 0.935 Pct - 5 SO
Kiprusoff - 74gp - 207 GAA - 0.923 Pct -10 SO
Kipper was the run away winner of the Vezina but a distant 3rd for the Hart
Personally I don't think Shesterkin has enough starts to warrant the Hart. He'll win the Vezina but I suspect the voting won't be a slam dunk win like Kippers was.
It's been 20 years since a goalie won the Hart, Theodore had 67 starts that year and still only won because of a complete biased moron Montreal writer.

How are the votes spread out? Is there a source where you can see where each vote comes from?

There is but I believe it's kept within the writers and the league, it got leaked in 02 because of the writer in Montreal who completely left Iginla off his ballad and that type of snub didn't go over well.

Matthews absolutely deserves to win. Dude is a monster all over the ice.

He is up there but what makes him the run away winner? more goals? Leafs don't seem to have much trouble winning without him
Gaudreau has more points, even strength points, better plus minus
