So I decided to really sit down and grind out Lego Star Wars and I gotta say I've had a change of heart. The game is a blast. I think I just had to get over the hump of accepting that it's not like the old games. But now that I've invested some time I'm loving the game.
It crashes a ton though. It's really annoying. But the autosave is really good in this game so I've rarely (if ever) lost any real progress.

Almost every new game announcement goes like this for me...
*cool ass trailer*
Me: Oh this looks interes-
"ONLINE CO-OP!!!!"
Me: Nevermind.
No pointing at that particular game but it's generally a don't bother for Always Online games these days with subscriptions and (premium) currency options. Obvious bastard childs of mobile gaming to squeeze money out of addicts and whales.

The emotional whiplash caused to me between when Predator: Hunting Grounds was announced to me finding out it was an online only multiplayer game may end up being my supervillain origin story. Nothing worse in current gaming

Yeah, that was pretty disappointing. I was hoping for something Alien: Isolation but in the jungle.
"Epic Exclusive" is another one that turns me off when a game is announced. Let people decide what client they want to buy it from.
Let people decide what client they want to buy it from.
I don't want any client. I hate how game are attached to storefronts now.
I don't want to have to rely on Steam, or Epic, or the wholly unnecessary Rockstar launcher, or Origin, or GOG. It's easier from an install / update / uninstall perspective, I get it, but I hate having to use the launcher to play what I want. "Please launch from [Distribution Client]", piss off.
I'm fine with clients but hate exclusives, but nothing is worse than buying through one client and then also requiring another client to run it. Buy through steam, click play, and it launches EA Desktop? #### right off, if I wanted to use that, I would have bought it there

And they will force you to sign up on that launcher; the only exception to this hate is if the launcher provides functionality like mod loadouts.

I picked up the Ukraine bundle from Itch.io and all the games are literally download / unizp to folder / put shortcut to the exe on your desktop / play.
Goes to show how much bloat is involved in computing these days. These things don't even install themselves, to remove them you just delete the folder.

^I bought that too. SkateBird was fun, but I don't think I've even looked through the entire list of games yet.

Another example, GTA V through Epic Launcher. Try and play it, and the game will then install the Rockstar Social Club launcher. And if either launcher closes, the game closes.

Check out Delver - super light but addictive dungeon crawler if you like the rogue-likes. You keep your gold found and storage upgrades between runs. Has a mine craft feel to it.

I fired up Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice and discovered that the developers had created an "enhanced edition" as a free upgrade and at some point, that update had been downloaded and applied. While I'm sure it improves the game for people with modern hardware, my RTX 2070 box can't get more than 40fps out of it - at best - at 1080p with ray tracing off and most settings at medium. It was previously well over 60 and stable. I could get 50 for the most part at 1440p.
I'm torn between giving them props for creating a bunch of visual upgrades to an older game and not charging for them, and being really angry at them for basically making it a worse game for everyone who didn't get into the 3000 series Nvidia sweepstakes.

If only there was a frontend that could access all clients like Plex does now for streaming services. I tried GOG Galaxy and Launchbox in the past but not sure how they are working these days, might have to check it out again.

Best I've ever done was adding non-steam games to their interface, but then never launched them through it since I just use desktop shortcuts anyway
Can't believe how long it's been since I first got to mess with this at PAX. Neat but not something I ended up ordering.
This is such a dumb design decision. From a glance, I would have thought that a non-backlit, b&w screen would be a lower power screen done for the purpose of this being an emergency/apocalypse gaming device that you could charge with the hand crank.
I really thought from screenshots that it was a hand crank generator that you could crank for a few minutes to get a few minutes of play like those emergency flashlights/radios.
That it's just an input and the display is like this is an awful choice.
Hey look at that elden ring with another patch. It fixed two separate invasions thst you couldn’t access past a certain point that killed a quest line and allegedly fixed the broken mausoleum. They buffed all incantations and didn’t seem to nerf much at all. Faith builds unite and spam blasphemous blade for victory.

I want to start a new run, its been a few weeks since I played but I'm scared to get hooked again. Such a good game and so many new things since I last played.
