Good. There should be danger within Russian borders. Interesting that it's terrorism when Russia gets bombed but a military exercise when they target Ukrainian civilians.

ehhh, I'd argue its actually a bad thing. Ultimately the risk to Russia from Ukraine is close to nil, and this declaration will only serve to further reinforce the view of everyday Russians towards the evil of the Ukrainians (and thus, their support for the war). Russia gonna Russia
This Christopher Hitchens segment from 2005 in interesting. He talks about the naivety of the West after the Berlin Wall and how the continued willingness to deal with dictators after that was the wrong direction. He ends it with warnings about Putin and ambitions of Russia in Ukraine.

The ghost of the infamous convoy of Kyiv decided to show itself again in the Kharkiv area. This time only 14 km long, with many remnants (and likely radioactive) of the previous Kyiv convoy. Russian motto seems to be, try try again and expect different results.
MOD updates for the day. With Russia having pulled out of norther Ukraine, evidence for war crimes mount with with more reported cases of rape, Russians leaving IEDs, and booby traps in their wake.
Focus on the war now shifts to the east for both sides around Kharkiv, Kramatorsk, and Kherson. Ukrainian counter attacks continue to inch towards Kherson from the north and west of the city, which will likely lead to an attempt to retake it in the next couple of weeks.
At this point there are likely to be few fully intact Russian units left, and attacks from the Russians would likely be comprised of reconstituted units, which will contribute to greater disorganization with the Russians. Russians appear to be getting desperate for troops recruiting from areas outside Russian proper. A new Russian convoy has also formed in the Kharkiv area sending supplies and reinforcements to Izyum for an eventual push by the Russians to take the Kramatorsk. In Mariupol Russians continue to gain ground against exhausted Ukrainian defenders. Defenders appear to be trapped in two remaining pockets against the cost being only resupplied sparsely by helicopter.
You post but you dont know if this is the real world?
I think you should stop posting and get some help.
I mean if you can not tell the difference between the real world and what is happening around you it is time to take a break.
I can multi quote you on this if you like.
You act like this is make believe. It is not real.
Your world? Lolipop trees, and candy houses.
My world is in reality.
I can not argue with a person living in a fantasy land.
You win!
what the #### are you going on about?
I'm trying to say in real life (not things I read on the internet) amongst people I talk to, nobody hates the country or the average citizen.
They hate Russian leadership and the military.
You a few days ago said you find it hard to support the Ukraine because they don't share your values.
you never did come back to clarify what values of yours they don't share.

You do now. I hate the average Russian for supporting this war. There are alot here too that out right support putin and all the propaganda . They feel it is all staged by Ukraine and the west. My wife works witha Russian girl who is you get 28 and believes all the propaganda. .
People polled within Russia that gets out is mostly older gen who support with millinals and younger not wanting to partake for fear of reprisals.
fair enough.
I can respect your feeling that way if you have to deal with those types of people.

Expect this to be made official in upcoming days, these types of news tend to be delayed a day or two to protect UA forces from current operations.
This one is an interesting one. My wife and I have been following this intently, as tweet #2 shows the village her family is in. My MIL says she heard non-stop explosions the past couple days which were the absolute loudest they have heard since the war started. This would coincide if the attack on the convoy did indeed take place close to them. But what makes it confusing is that tweet #1 is in a completely different area (East of Kharkiv, rather than North where Tweet #2 is located).
So we aren't sure if it's 2 different convoys or the same one, but just reported in different areas. The Telegram channel in that region isn't clear exactly where it occurred, nor can it confirm all the loud explosions recently heard were from artillery hitting this convoy, of if it was related to the attack on Dergachi to the south, which it itself has been getting attacked the past few days.
Waiting to see what the official word is, as no one really knows what happened yet and a lot of 'information' going off in multiple directions.

It may be a different one, based on location as mentioned, but it will be a few days before we learn official information. I have seen multiple different convoys being attacked and destroyed in the past 24 hours on twitter, some very significant ones including reports of BTGs destroyed.
There is a LOT going on. It appears that in their haste to give Putin his win for Victory Day, the Russians redeployed all the Kyiv, Chernihiv and Sumy troops without so much as a proper preparation plan and sending them down towards Donetsk from all roads they can use. All in a line of course...since it has been working so well.
Ukrainians know exactly where they are all coming from. And with the help of drone reconnaissance know exactly where to concentrate artillery.
So can we put to bed the theory that the Kyiv attacks were a feint to distract Ukraine? It was obviously a weak face saving attempt at the time and its become more clear as this goes on.
The pressure is going to be on for this new Russian theatre commander, with May 9th coming up Putin is going to want to add a conquest flag to the WW2 Victory parade in Moscow.

I'm worried as it seems that the commander is more than happy to brutalize civilians.

Unfortunately not. MIL has made it known to us that she will leave behind her husband and immobile mother behind so that her and her sister can try to escape to Poland to get to us.
That in itself took a while to get her on board, as she absolutely would not leave her husband, much to the chagrin of my wife. But over this past week her mind has changed so her and her sis are now fully on board with leaving. Better late than never I guess. But no one has been able to leave the village for weeks now. Apparently the mayor of their village has handed over control to the Russians recently, so groups of people have been asking him about evacuations and getting out. Not sure what his deal is, but he shuts down that idea when its brought up. I'm sure the Russians have a say in that too, given they are stationed everywhere around them.
As well, given all the fighting in between the UA/RU border and Kharkiv, it's probably dangerous to even attempt to leave. That is something my wife is really struggling to comprehend, as she desperately wants her Mom & Aunt to leave towards Poland, but honestly in my opinion is probably safer to stay put until Kharkiv at least clears out a bit. But good luck trying to convey that to her, as she is a mess about everything going on with her folks (understandably so).
Basically a bunch of no-goodness in that area, and all we can do is sit back and watch from a distance to see how it plays out, praying they make it through another day alive.

Of course he is, that's been the Russian playbooks for centuries, its not going to change now.
Civilian casualties don't disturb the Russian leadership, it never has. Its a effective way to tie up enemy military's as they have to defend their civilian centers. Its also a moral crusher.
And what do we expect from a general with the tag "Butcher of Syria"
