3rd intermission report on TNT was all about our top line being the top line in hockey.

I think when you tie a 1-0 game in the dying seconds, it’s worth celebrating.

I know the Saddledome would erupt.

Sure, you can celebrate it, but sliding with your knees and celebrating like you actually won a stanley cup or a big playoffs game, when actually you just tied the game, and that was like the 2nd or 3rd game of the season, is absurd.

I tuned in, Kings scored. Stopped watching. I tuned in again, Kings scored.

I've learned my lesson.

It's the Oilers way. Every win, every goal even when you're already up by 5 is the Stanley Cup winner.

I don't know...I used to think that as well and now I am kind of resigned to the fact that what you see is what you will get.

He can carry the puck but he seems to be a one man mission, not using his linemates. He has a great shot when he hits the net...which is not very often.

I hope to be proven wrong but I just have not seen much growth in his play.

I didn't realize that Lewis had family connections to Lethbridge.

Pretty sure some convo will happen between them on the bench...out of sight of the cameras for the most part. Good choice - no hotdogging over an ENG.

Probably because it's a national broadcast. I'll definitely be looking for their shows on Weds, and Sunday. Also Rick Ball is awesome so nothing against him. He's the best part of SNet broadcasts by far.
I thought that the guy doing the PbP sounded quite a bit like Rick Ball ... similar kind of cadence and intonation.

Except SN uses the home teams broadcast for away games because of covid. They send no crew. So it was the same footage lolol.
FWIW, I was watching both streams on Lemieux and the TNT feed was consistenly better...the SN feed stuttered from time to time. Can't explain why that is b/c I don't really understand how they do it...but the feeds WERE different even though done from the same originating cameras.

I'd say you should start watching the Oilers, but since the Kings didn't play last night, no idea what the path forward is here...

Been enough talk on here on how great the quality of the TNT broadcast was. Been watching their games throughout the season, so was glad to see a Flames game get flexed in since it wasn't originally scheduled. The product and quality for both in-game and studio are pretty good. Only weakness I can acknowledge is that Anson Carter doesn't really fit in with the chemistry. They're trying to make it lighthearted like the NBA crew, and Biz is all about that, with McHugh and Tocchet can play off it well. But Carter doesn't seem to be able to chip in enough to make him a positive contributor, and just mostly laughs.

ESPN has an upcoming scheduling flex for next weeks games, and a Oilers game was one they'll be showing nationally now. Considering Johnny and Chucky are American stars that are having career years, I would hope ESPN would try to get a game with the Flames prior to the end of the regular season.

Boston gives up 1.47 expected goals/60 with Bergeron on the ice. No one else in the league is below 1.7.
He also gets considerably more offensive zone starts (59.3%) than any of the Flames #1 line (who get 4-5% less offensive zone starts). Offensive zone starts can inflate a player's Corsi. Tkachuk's Enhanced +/- (24.6) is better than Bergeron (24.4). Only player better there is Weegar, who (quietly) should be leading the Norris race.

Of course, it is worth celebrating. But take a look at that video again: people are jumping up and down; hugging strangers; shrieking in delight.

It's pretty over-the-top for a January game.
