He will win because he always wins and is having a good season. But that is a model that I doubt anyone here understands what goes into it. I can't imagine too many voters are going to vote based on some model they don't understand.
The point is that he will win and be fully deserving.

I mean, Nail Yakupov's ridiculous overreaction was one thing, but that crowd? Jesus. This was a game in the first few weeks of the season, and the whole building erupted like it was Game 7 in May.

Top line good as usual. Dube and Mang skated well. Really happy with the game.
There are times watching a game that I think Dube looks like the second-best player on the team when he is carrying the puck. He had several rushes like this last night, and I can't help but think there is special player in there just on the cusp of breaking out. I wish it would happen already.

Nice to get a couple wins in Cali, but the Flames certainly haven't been dominating teams lately. Not like they were earlier when they were red hot. I guess I shouldn't expect them to dominate like that all the time, but I thought they might against a weak Ducks team.
A little worrisome with the playoffs approaching, hopefully they can find that extra gear again soon.
You're right, they're not dominating like they were for a stretch there. But I think winning close games right now and holding one goal leads may actually be more important and better in the long run.

As good as anyone else has been this year, Bergeron is running away with the Selke. He's having one of the best defensive seasons of all-time.
Gaudreau is +51 because he's been good defensively, while putting up an all-time great offensive performance at 5v5. With Gaudreau on the ice, we're scoring 4.88 goals/60. In the last decade, that's 2nd only to 2013 Crosby, who missed 12/48 games and still almost won the Art Ross. Gaudreau would probably still be +40 if he didn't back-check just on the strength of his offensive play.
If Bergeron wins the Selke, it is only due to an eastern hockey media bias.

Good point. Admittedly, I was a little annoyed last night that they couldn't put the lowly Ducks away at 2-0 or 3-1. It wasn't for lack of chances either. However, they were able to lock it down when it mattered, and they'll need to do that down the stretch and into the playoffs against better teams.
“That was nice,” Stone smiled during a post-game presser. “I had … I don’t know how many chances to do it. I think I hit every defenceman on their team at least once. So it was nice to hit the net.
I have to say the TNT broadcast was so much better than Sportsnet in every facet. Better play by play, better stories, better intermission features. Very impressive. The guy doing the call Herb Albert or something like that was just very relaxed and go with the flow and knew everything and was very prepared. They were very complimentary of the Flames too. Probably because it's a national broadcast. I'll definitely be looking for their shows on Weds, and Sunday. Also Rick Ball is awesome so nothing against him. He's the best part of SNet broadcasts by far.
The PBP guy was Darryl's roommate in Chicago and was telling stories about Darryl making him change the channel on the TV - also that Darryl was the captain and one of the best leaders.
