Really depends on where the 1st lands if its a badish deal vs horrible deal
The 2nd isnt until 2024, so a bit out which lowers value.
In the NFC Saints can easily be a playoff team. If this picks falls around 20-22 its not that bad.
I love the deal from Phillies standpoint, and it certainly is very risky for Saints if their season goes off the rails

It's probably a good trade for both teams unless Saints have a terrible season.

Saints draft well, but from a pure asset management standpoint this is a terrible deal for them. We'll see how they use the picks in the end (might package them to trade up for a QB?), but the Eagles FO will surely be all smiles today and rightfully so.

It's a great hedge for the Eagles too. If Hurts is as limited throwing the ball as he has appeared so far then you picked up another first in a good QB class next year. If Hurts does improve you have another asset to potentially trade next year to a QB desperate team. Not really much downside here for the Eagles, the risk is all on the Saints.

I'm not sure I'm trading a future first when I have Winston and Dalton as my two QBs.

Also, Saints are very much like the Flames where when a season goes off the rails, instead of full tank job, they go on a meaningless late run & scratch and claw their way to 7-9 or 8-8 and blow their chances at a top draft pick. At least going off it historically (and looking at that top 5 D they still have), I don't see that becoming a top 10 pick.
I've watched this team week to week this entire century, and with the exception of the hurricane Katrina season, I've never seen them win less than 7 games in a season. All my fav sports teams suck at tanking.

saw pictures on social media yesterday of Steelers QBs, WRs and RBs working out together in Florida, Haskins included. Horrible, horrible news. RIP.

It stopped working because Schefter deleted the tweet for being just a bit callous. I mean technically true and all, but time and place and all that.

Terrible news and strange circumstances. He was struck while apparently walking along or attempting to cross I595.

That's a lot of money for the 4th-best QB in his division.

It is a lot of money, but QB desperation is what it is and there is no doubt whatsoever he would get more if he got to market. Although referring to him as a "star QB" is fairly embarrassing, NFL fans aren't tuning in to watch Derek Carr play football. He's a solid, Cousins-tier QB, nothing more.

He would easily get more money and term in free agency so it is what it is. That said I am not comfortable with the salaries being handed out to QB's in general as it means teams have to cut corners at other positions and poor drafts can be devastating.

Not sure where else to put this, but the XFL has announced quite the list of their new head coaches for the next failed attempt.
Reggie Barlow
Anthony Becht
Terrell Buckley
Jim Haslett
Wade Phillips
Bob Stoops
