Iga up a set and a break on Naomi.
Edit: Make it a double break - Iga has turned on the lights at the Polish bakery.

Sorry for the jinx Naomi - Iga takes it 6-4 6-0. Third consecutive WTA 1000 titles in a row for Iga, impressive stuff.

Yup, tennis is in a good place these days. Sure, we're gonna miss Fed, Rafa, and Djoker when they hang up their rackets, but as the Who sang, the kids are all right.

I can't believe you actually predicted Naomi would win. Iga is a straight up murderer and looks about as playable than prime Djokovic at this point. You're more likely to win her service game than your own, it seems like. The fact that she's now won three straight 1000s and we haven't even gotten to her preferred surface yet is fairly terrifying... just needs to keep working on her serve and she has a chance to be world #1 for years.

I liked the way Naomi was playing coming into the final and I thought Iga might be a little tired and that would give Osaka a slight edge. Iga is just in beast mode though and Naomi made way too many unforced errors today. I'll let Smooth Jimmy Apollo take it home...

Does Swiatek win close matches? Every final is a beatdown.

Okay, let's try this again. I'm taking Alcaraz over Ruud in straight sets, but I think it's going to be close (something like 7-5 6-4)

Can I please have the 6/49 numbers now?
He's done it! I have a feeling he is going to be the one that emerges as someone who stops Djokovic from winning multiple more Slams. Next stop a Major and world #1 there is nothing this kid can't do...... besides beat Rafa

The thing that stands out to me is the versatility in his game, he's not content just staying on the baseline and exchanging ground strokes, he looks for opportunities to come to net and already is a very good volleyer. I would say that prior to this year his biggest weakness was his serve, but he's improved that tremendously and he's turned it into a weapon. Obviously, the physical transformation over the last 12-18 months is impressive. He also doesn't seem to get rattled for a guy so young, yesterday when serving for his first Masters 1000 title, he closes it out winning it at love.
He's moved into 2nd place in the race to Turin while still having two years of eligibility for the NextGen finals.

so much for Team World's dreams of winning Laver Cup once the Big 3 are gone.

Steven Diez with some delayed justice after he "won" his final qualification match only to have the match restarted by the chair umpire after checking a mark. He lost that match but gets into the ATP 250 Houston tourney as a lucky loser. He tweets about it below...

That sounds insanely fishy... I mean it's obviously a one-sided account but if that description is accurate it sure sounds like an umpire who needs to be investigated for some sort of gambling-related corruption.
