Morbius looks like the early frontrunner to win the Razzi for worst 2022 movie. Been a while since I've seen a big budget movie at 19%.

I just wish Sony would partner with Marvel for their movies. What they've done with the MCU Spidey has been awesome and fun. But Sony being left on their own? they just seem campy, less structured, unpolished, sloppy or rushed.

It doesn't help that Leto has become a totally unselfaware nutbar. He's running what appears to be an actual cult.

He was pretty great in Dallas Buyer's Club and Blade Runner as side characters. Any movie where the focus is on a character that his ego creates is a big no.

He's been great playing oddball side characters. He won all sorts of awards for Dallas Buyers Club. He got accolades for his performance in the new Gucci movie, although I haven't seen that.

The problem is that he needs to be reigned in, because he's legitimately crazy, and if he's given the ability to go wild will end up making pure crap.

He's got talent but it seems after Dallas Buyers Club he's been a little over the top in a lot of his roles.

He seems to do better in small roles. He was good in Lord of War as the coked out brother. Great in Dallas Buyers Club. Terrible in basically everything since.

Morbius brought home $17 mill on Friday. Looking at below $40 mill opening weekend. Looks like it might not even crack $100 mill in its total run.

Well...in fairness the film landscape post-pandemic is going to be really hard to compare to what it was pre-pandemic.

I think people are going to get out and go see just about anything at this point, if for no other reason than just to get back to as much 'normal' as possible.

Morbius should just about break even with total box office. Hopefully enough of a wake to call for Sony to start putting out better product.

Yikes only a $10 mill weekend for Morbius, this is the biggest drop I can remember for a CBM, -74% from last weekend.

Doctor Strange 2 having presales like this must annoy Warner Bros. I know the DC vs Marvel thing is getting stale but a character like Doctor Strange beating out Justice League in their first movies and then destroying them with his second has to be a blow to their ego.
