Yeah I’m not upset with it, was just a bit surprised. Really hope it works out.

Hopefully he can be a leader with the Jays too - from the article linked below:

"After further evaluation by the Angels medical staff, it was deemed Fowler indeed tore his left ACL and required season-ending surgery. With the loss of Fowler being the first injury to plague the Halos, his spot at the time was to be platooned by Juan Lagares and Taylor Ward.

During the rehab process, Fowler continued to stick with the Angels in the dugout alongside Trout, coaching young players and bringing a relaxed and joyful attitude towards the clubhouse. This was definitely a breath of fresh air to see on a daily basis because most players may have packed up and headed home for the entirety of the rehab process, but as a veteran with a long successful track record in the league, his leadership qualities were put on display especially when Brandon Marsh and Jo Adell were called up in the middle of the season."

Even if it's only spring training it's always nice seeing the Blue Jays spank the Yankees.

It's still spring training on Friday. The season doesn't start until next week.

What? Oh, I thought they said April 1st was the start of the season when they agreed to a new deal? Weird.

April 7th is what they said I believe.

Which could easily be mistaken for April 1st in an article.

Watching the Jays game right now, I still get anxiety during Springer at bats, just saying to myself "please stay healthy please stay healthy please stay healthy". Really hope I move past this.

Was I the only one who didn’t realize Montoyo wasn’t signed further? I could’ve sworn we had this discussion last year that he was. I got an alert saying he’s been extended two year. I don’t feel as strongly as I once did about him because the team is definitely on the right track and they definitely seem to like him. I don’t think he’s particularly smart but last year they did well under him so I can’t complain. Indifferent here.

I didn't know Montoyo was not already extended. I know he can be infuriating at times but it is a deserved extension.

The team exceeded my expectations the last two seasons. Could they have been better? Sure, but you can say that about most teams if not all. Not sure how well any team would do with all the moving around and other covid related challenges.

They picked up his option for this season before last season even started. It looks like they've done the same.

Last year I was pretty annoyed. This year I still feel they shouldn't be so quick to lock him up another year but I think the team can still do good things with average managing so I'm not as annoyed.

Mcguire to the White Sox for catcher Zach Collins

Not sure what the point of this move is to be honest but whatever.

Buh bye spanky.

Just got the notification. I assume it’s because they wanted to send him down but he wouldn’t have cleared waivers. I assume Collins can be sent down?

I’m not torn about McGuire. At one point was highly touted but seems like an average at best catcher.
