We're talking generally here Corsi, we're talking worthy nominations. No one is saying flat out without compromise that Hugh Jackman should've 100% won an Oscar over Gary Oldman in 2017.
FATA THAT. Maybe if you're already into it, but for a guy that knew nothing about anything related to Dune, it was a boring pile of dog #### that made no fataing sense and ended just as I thought the story was starting.

I knew nothing about Dune and I also thought it was incredible. So did many others that knew nothing about Dune. It was pretty easy to figure out what was going on, not sure what the deal is there.
Is this the latest Sliver bit?

I don't have 'bits'. I just like my movies to have coherent story lines with a beginning, middle and end, and not bore the ever-loving #### out of me. Dune had 3/4 of a beginning stretched to 11 hours long.

A story arc that doesn't finish in one movie is enough to confuse you?

100%. Any story in a movie must be believable, even if it is a fantasy. In essence, viewers must be able to believe that what's happening on screen is possible somehow. Leaving all of the other crap in it aside, how could anyone believe that in an inter-galactic warfare with lasers, cybersuits, protection cloud shields and flying transport machines looking like stupid cast iron buckets, the armies would still be fighting each other with swords??? This was pretty much a cartoon movie; they could have created anything. Yet, they've chosen swords.

The problem for Dune as a movie is the that the book is basically a pretty ####ty story, it never attempts to explain where or why anything happens, its a mono dimensional good versus bad hero story that hangs itself on the existence of giant worms that can swim through a tractless desert that provides them with nothing to eat but they still manage to crap out a mind altering drug that the universe needs to fly around the galaxy, asking the obvious question 'how did they get to the planet in the first place?'
It's a really really stupid story

Gotta leave room for at least 5 sequels.

I watched Dune last night and thought the same thing! I was like..."Oh, it's over...okay..."
Just skip them, then we won't have to suffer, and we won't have to hear your schtick. We all win.
Crap. He's onto us, guys. Me, La Flames Fan, CaptainYooh, aaronck, afc wimbledon...it's that crazy schtick of ours to not like Dune. Har har, look at us go.
