I'm projecting but I really believe Johnny was trying so hard to get the 10th goal because Smith was in the net. Watching the highlights, it's possible that Tkachuk also chirped Smith on Lindholm's second goal.
Again, I'm projecting but it looks like the team has some animosity against Smith and I'm comfortable accepting that as the truth.
Chucky definitely did when he scored the first one on Smith.

I don't see many posts talking about it but what a game by Mikael Backlund.
Completely shuts down both the Draisaitl and the McDavid lines head to head, giving them NOTHING. Zero points. Almost kills Connor McDavid by simply brushing against him. I'm surprised McDavid could get up off the ice by himself after that vicious hit.

Edmonton and all its numpty fan base need to learn it's not the NBA where you can have a superstar or 2 and win a title. Hockey's a 6 man game full stop.
Like I can't believe Edmonton ownership have zero clue how to properly build around McDummy and Draisaitl.

Yeah but it was his rookie year and only about 5 games into the season, after an unproductive start. He was scratched a season or two later when he, Monahan and Bouma were hung over and late for practice.
Any word on whether McDavid is OK after that vicious elbow? I was pretty concerned with how hard he went down, have to believe the paramedics were real close to rushing out on the ice there. You know it's a scary hit when the body flies through the air like that. McDavid is one tough dude who will always fight through any contact so you know that was one violent collision.
Luckily the league enforces the concussion protocol to really protect the player in violent cases like this.
And Bieksa, whom Flames fans used to hate, seems less punchable these days.
I think Bieksa is the best of the bunch. I never find him favoring anyone, in fact, if one could say he favors any team, I would say he favors the Flames. Straight up tells it like it is...adds a few good stories from his playing career. I really like his take on that panel.
