I think he's just trying to give his buddy a boost. I imagine it's not an easy thing for Mony to have to sit in the press box.

Monahan is recovering from hip surgery and Gaudreau is standing by his teammate and friend, supporting him. Doesn't have to be anything more than that.

Sure I can agree with that. He also does have a knack every few games for turning the puck over like he did. It is ok to acknowledge a flaw in a player, nobody's perfect.

Of course it would. Any trade, buyout of Monahan would make Gaudreau contemplate his decision, 100 percent.
