Naomi just blitzed through Kerber 6-2 6-3 in just over an hour. Nice to see her playing some fine tennis. It's too bad we won't see a Leylah - Naomi match as they were on a collision course.

Oh man, Siniakova doesn't look good (breathing issues) and is taking a MTO. 28 degrees and 72% humidity doesn't help.

I have nothing against Raducanu, but I don't want her to stay in tournaments longer than Leylah because I'm a petty maple syrup drinker. rightly or wrongly their careers will probably be tracked together from now on because of how they broke out.

It's interesting Jack, the last two losses for Leylah (to Badosa at IW and today to Muchova) were not bad losses in my opinion as Leylah played well, it's just that her opponents played some tremendous tennis. I think that's going to be the thing for both Leylah and Emma now, they're the hunted rather than the hunters and it's going to be an adjustment for both of them on how they handle this development.

By the way, Emma just got broken serving for the match (double-faulted on break point) and now has to hold serve to force a 3rd set tie-break.
Edit: Siniakova takes it 3-6 6-4 7-5. Heck, I thought this match was getting to be a walkover for Emma in the opening set as Siniakova was struggling to breathe, but she just got better and better as the match progressed.

This is not new. Just watch the Challenger Tour everyday. Two guys slugging it out for about $100.

Krygios fined 25 grand for his actions at Indian Wells...

Brooksby removed his terrible staged and/or non-consented video of his “apology” to the ballboy. Time for his pocket change token fine, ATP.
Speaking of crap, NB3 Fraud on court with the poo shirt representing the stain he is upon the sport of tennis.

Maybe the reason why the ATP treats Zverev with kid gloves is they realize how many people tune in to hate-watch his matches?

Have to say that for a guy who's had a long layoff, Coric is looking damn good.
Edit: Coric and Zverev need a 3rd set to decide a winner. Let's go Borna!!

Darn, Coric had his chances in that 3rd set to get back on serve, but execution was lacking at the critical moments. Good to see him back though.

yes I'm likely part of the problem. sort of like how SportsNet looks at ratings for Oiler games and notices an unusually high numbers of Calgarians tuning in for sad clown hockey, but assumes we're there to McWitness greatness.
