I am not of the Video-gaming persuasion, I've never played this game nor do I know anything about it.
But I enjoyed the episode. I thought it was pretty good.
That's a decent endorsement. I think people who don't know/play the games may actually enjoy it more cause they won't be nitpicking all the ways it's different from the game or why they didn't include this or that, etc. I'm definitely planning on checking it out.
Got thru all of Succession. Will agree overall the 3rd season wasn’t as interesting. Kendall was full blowhard. Glad he pulled it back in that birthday party. Seemed to be a lot of just standing around waiting for Logan to decide things and less fun backchanneling. Roman totally blowing his chance at the top job was top tier epic though.
Overall it’s a good, good show with some fun laughs and “holy sh**” moments.
Some other HBO recommends, Minx is awesome. Sort of like
Mad Men if it was made by National Lampoons. Lots of male nudity so if that bothers you steer clear. But you shouldn’t. Cuz it’s good and who cares it’s dongs (kind of the whole premise of the show, really).
Again I’ll pump up Winning Time. Never been a big Jason Clarke fan, and no idea how Jerry West actually was in person, but man he is killing it. Just pure insane and outrageous. It’s hilarious.

Thanks to whoever pointed out the show Peaky Blinders to me.
I have seen that name come up for years but with a name like that I thought it was like a kids animation series. I am an adult, most of the time. Dont need to watch some kids show.
I dont know how historically correct the show is but is interesting.
Nothing like watching a show you know nothing about, enjoying the first episode then find out you have six seasons of it to watch.
How did I miss it? Because the shows name sounds like a kids cartoon!
If Sponge Bob was a leader of the mafia in England I would probably watch too.

I just finished watching Succession last night too. As gripping and hilarious as the show is, it does seem as though everything just resets every couple episodes. No matter what business shenanigans go on, there’s a new threat that materializes and then disappears like all the others. No matter how Logan treats his kids, they come back for his approval. No matter how incendiary the siblings are in destroying one another, they’re back in the next episode hanging out by a pool and making quips at one another. For all the high-stakes drama, the dynamic of the show resets to its default state over and over.
Still entertaining as ####, though.
Favourite line from second last episode of S3:
Willa: You ever meet the pope, Conn?
Conn [fiddling with his phone]: Ya-ahuh. I met one. A couple of popes back, with dad. He was a real, full-fat pope. Complete pope. Very religious.
Willa: I guess he really drank the kool-aid, huh?

Willa’s subtle asides to herself at Conn’s expense are hilarious. She’s one of those minor characters like Gerri and the various assistants who act as proxies for us, the non-obscenely-wealthy audience. What would you be willing to endure for access to a life of fabulous wealth and power?

"The butter is too cold. I'm so sorry about the butter"
Nothing will ever make me laugh harder than that moment in the show.
My first real job was working as a busboy in the banquet hall at the Glencoe Club. The first task given to me on my first day was filling the butter dishes. The sheets of bulk butter are kept frozen - you have to break them by hand into individual squares when you put them in the little dishes. And we did have a party host complain about the frozen butter once (though he didn’t rant like Conn). So that scene took me back.

this is true, though it's probably a commentary on how powerful people and corporations almost never face real consequences, no matter how unethical they behave. things are hot for a few days while they run on CNN and MSNBC, and then everyone forgets and moves on to the next story. we've forgotten more Trump scandals than we'll probably ever know about our own government.

this is definitely intentional in how Logan has a type of Stockholm syndrome hold on his children and they can't break out of it. and they never hold long grudges between siblings because they actually truly care for and love each other...except for Connor of course.

And I have to say...its got a budget. Cinematically it looks really good.
Granted, Picard and STD have budgets and are pretty outstanding visually...but they're still not great.

Anybody watching Severance on Apple TV? We're 3 episodes in and it's a great blend of social commentary, philosophy, and mystery. The cast is great in it too with Adam Scott, John Turturro, Patricia Arquette, Christopher Walken etc.
