Yeah, this is the point. Monahan hasn’t played very well so far tonight. But a softy like that and more complaints are about the little play at the blue line. Roll the video back and there’s a bunch of the same plays on both teams. The difference there was the non-save.
That certainly isn’t “Monahan can do no wrong”. It’s “let’s apportion blame a little more reasonably on that play”.

Monahan no longer on PP2. Needs to show something at 5-on-5 and soon.

He has a claim. Him, Kylington and maybe Coleman.

Or could be a poor turn over and poor goal.

It’s crazy that Vlasic was the 2nd rounder we traded for Kipper

I don't think he's moping, I think he's extremely frustrated with his body.
Was lucky to get pretty good seats for the Devils game and paid very close attention to Mony. He doesn't look right, his first stride doesn't look to have much power or be particularly quick. His hands looked to be fine, but it's pretty tough to stick handle standing still in the NHL.

The goal is bad, Markstrom rarely let's those in though. If Monahan can't get a puck out 2 feet from the Blueline he won't be in the lineup long. Sure it wasn't a great chance but it often is on a turnover like that.
Would be nice if they showed a replay where you could see the traffic ect. and not just the extreme closeup

Monahan having a prominant role in goals against seems to be happening on a regular basis. The same can't be said about him having prominant roles in goals for.
That's why the "what if player X made that same bad play" argument doesn't work.

I honestly remember looking who the draft pick turned out to be when I was a kid and everytime I watch Vlasic play I always say that's the player/pick that was traded for kipper lol

Both can be true at the same time. Monahan can be a bum at the same time it was a soft goal and not totally his fault

On Carpenter
Francis: I hate the term "spare part". It's so demeaning to the player.
Then goes on to refer to him as "it".

I've not seen a game live this year so I trust your word seeing him up close and personal. I can understand him being frustrated as he's such a young guy and knows he's nowhere near the player he once was. It's frustrating for us fans too.

His top speed is there. It just takes longer to to get there.

This 100%. I don't hang around here often during the intermissions but you guys have just spent 12 minutes debating something which player was at fault but the reality is both screwed up, both could've made each other look better but got to move on with the game at some point and hope both players rebound and have each other's back for the rest of the game.

Kylington certainly has better edges, combined with top speed. Dube is more straight ahead.
