Still... He must not want to be here if he isn't moving mountains to make it happen last week!

Thanks so much Royle9! It is going to be my daughter's first ever game just in time for her birthday next week. We'll be cheering and can't wait to feel the heat! GFG!

That's a big opportunity for Dube, and a chance to how far Mangiapane can carry a line's offence on his own. Nothing against Jarnkrok or Coleman, but he's playing with a couple of elite checkers and will have to be the one driving play.

As the comment in the OP said: the depth of the lineup has pushed Monahan to the 4th line.

Flame fans like to bitch about Monahan, and yes, he isn't good value for $6.3M right now. But just think about it from the perspective of the team you are icing - who has a better 4th line C than Monahan?

Reasonable point, but I think we're proving that Monahan is a complementary player. I don't think he drives a line; he needs talented wingers. Still think him between Mangiapane and Dube is worth a try, with backlund between Coleman and Tkachuk -- shades of 3M, and Toffoli on line 1.

That leaves Lucic=Carpenter-Lewis, which seems like a pretty gritty L4 to me.

if you're sliding Monahan up, who are you sliding down?

You forgot Jarnkrok

Whoops!

Jarnkrok-Carpenter-Lewis

Give Lucic a break. He could use it.

Yes. It’s pretty much now proven he was a product of Gaudreau. That said, if he was playing up there IMO he’d be good for double the goals he has, based on the same level of play he has now. The question is - is there a combination that can recreate that even a little bit? It’s not Lucic/Lewis.

Good shift by the Backlund line. But Dube’s still taking an extra foray on his shifts. Cut those down.

ETA: Wrong thread, stupid.
