Does he not play infield once in a while as well?

Tranny…..on the surface it might be an ok depth move. But I loathe him. So a big no from me.

I hate Gardner. But once the Yankee stink wears off I think I’d get over it. He takes a ton of pitches and fills the LH role.
He’s a human thumb but at least he would be our human thumb

My theory is he would just retire if the Yankees didn't offer him a contract, and just using the Blue Jays as leverage somehow, saying "look, other teams want me'.

That's just bitterness.
Toronto will be willing to pay what he is worth, so they have at worst the same shot as other teams, but in reality, the inside track

And under control until the 2026 season, I believe. The most likely scenario is after his current contract is up (after this season), he'll sign a 10-year, $400 million deal or something ridiculous like that. And it'll be worth it.

Ya sounds like sour grapes/wishful thinking on your friends part.
I cannot envision a scenario where the Jays would lose either Bichette or Vladdy. The Jays will probably buy out some arb years and give them Tatis-like deals. The Jays can afford it, Vlad is already beloved within in TO, same with Bo. They are core pieces.

And not just core pieces from a baseball perspective, but also superstars from a marketing perspective.
You sign those guys for whatever it takes, for as long as you can. Because they are not replaceable.

Absolutely Enoch.
I mean the Jays have already gotten about 20 WAR from the two already for a combined 7 million bucks. Not bad.

He's going down as the Jays greatest of all time and they aren't going to just let him walk, but this is one of those guys that thinks he knows everything and everyone else knows nothing. He said he heard the Angels were going to make an offer and guess what, his fav team is the Angels. I just laughed. Said to him that Canucks have a better chance of trading Myers to Oilers for McDavid and Oilers retaining salary

So the Jays have reached agreements with all their arb eligible players. Great news.
They also agreed to a 2 year deal with Chapman, $25 million total. I think that's a good gamble, if he pulls a "Semien" and lights it up, he will be a massive bargain next season.
