Edmonton is no good at developing their own draft picks, so anything beyond the 2nd round is useless junk to them.
The only reason they have any in-house draft talent playing on their roster is because their 1st round picks are so high every year, usally in lottery territory.

Big thanks to secret agent GG who likely had fairly good input on this one. He will be gone on the offseason though too.
Oiler fans have to realize that the overpays are required to get players, agents, and other organizations to even think about doing any business with them because of the depths that Lowe has sunk that organization to. Rakell instead for that 2nd round pick? Pipe dream.
Kulak did assist on Jagr's only Flames goal too.
