I don't blame them, considering they managed to get a third for Hamonic, you'd think you could get at least that much for Motte - Motte's actually useful and you don't have to pay him $3M next season.

I've noticed him (in a positive sense) when we played the Canucks. I see him as an underrated third-liner with speed and grit. Good bet by NYR.

Great 4th line guy. But like many great 4th line guys, he's going to get paid during UFA and become an overpaid 4th line guy. Canucks took a run at re-signing, saw the writing on the wall and walked away.

Should have called the Oilers. Could have gotten a 2nd, 7th and a roster player.

The fact they managed to get a 3rd rounder for Hamonic, must have had them feeling like they could land a 1st rounder for Motte.
