I'm not worried about Minnesota. The way we played Kaprizov back in those two games completely neutralized him, and without him going, the Wild haven't got much. Fleury will make them better but it won't be enough.

The amount of posters concerned about the Flames having to face a 37 year old MAF surprises me. He's a decent goalie but he's also past his prime.
I wouldn't be worried one iota if the Flames had to face him in the playoffs.

Veteran goalies have done amazing things in the playoffs (Belfour, Roy, Hasek, Brodeur, etc). I'm not hugely worried about MAF but I wouldn't write off any strong goalie simply due to age... They seem to age better than any other position (which I don't really understand, given the flexibility required).

This has to be pissing Oiler fans off. And therefore I am happy with the trade!
As for those worried about facing Fleury - every good team has a good goalie and I don't think 2022 Fleury is all that high on the list of scariest ones to face.

If the Flames can't get past a Wild team starting a 37 year old Fleury then they were never a cup contender to begin with so this doesn't worry me in the least.

Decent gamble for the Wild, but Fleury hasn’t been any better than Talbot this season. There is a risk that at 37 years old his game just is what it is now.
