Do they have a farm team to call players up from to fill the roster holes?

Maybe they will take back some bad contracts today for draft capital? I have no idea what they are doing, it seems like they are just trading back all the players they took in the expansion draft and will just fold.

Is there a minimum base salary cap they have to meet? Surely they’re flirting with it if they don’t start taking back some bad contracts.

As I know the family, I hope that Brett Leason goes the other way. He might have a chance to play consistently in Seattle and he would be closer to home.

I believe in the Jays.

I wonder if Lucic would waive to go to Seattle... pay his signing bonus on July 1 then move him to the Kraken. We get cap space they get a "name" player and a salary for cap minimum compliance at a real dollar discount.

It's possible. He already waived for them once. Close to home for him. I assume if Calgary pays the bonus they are hit with that much AAV? Not sure about it though. The other alternative is to retain $1M (and pay it in cash towards the bonus).

60M for the year. The team had been flirting with 75M. Since we're on day 160 of 200 or so, they've already reach the cap floor (75*160/200=60). Nothing to worry about.
Plus Johansson makes 1.5M, so whatever plug they get from the AHL will make nearly as much. Giordano and Jarnkrok have half their salary retained. So right now they aren't even close to the lowest cap team.
