Yep, I mean the Flames do have 16 of them...32 games

I think it's a valuable lesson to fans how stark of an improvement several key players on this team have made this year compared to last.
Many posters here were on board with dumping Matthew Tkachuk last year, mocking how far he was from being a $9M player. He's now on pace for 98 points this year and looks very much elite.
Lots of us were trying to craft trades to send Gaudreau to Philly, built around Frost, Konecny, and/or Philippe Myers (on waivers today!)
After the disappointing playoff loss to Dallas, I was one of those interested in swapping Gaudreau for Konecny...
There were a lot of posters that similarly turned against Rasmus Andersson last year, and now he looks incredible once again.
The point being, progression in the NHL isn't always linear when considering young players. Might be a good lesson regarding Dube's season this year and what his future could still hold for the team.

Love when this team rolls 4 lines, 3 pairings.

I think you're being conservative.
It should have been 6-0 after the 1st!

The Canuck fans in the ATL complaining that the Flames didn't look tired after playing on Friday obviously didn't watch Friday night's game.

Yeah, and if it wasn't for Markys brain fart he'd have had another shut out to tie Kippers reg season record and the Flames rolled out with an extra point.
All that on top of the flames snoozing through the Buffalo game to a 0-0 tie.

Flames weren’t tired on Friday.
Flames were hungover on Friday.

Caught this one on PVR. That first period was immensely satisfying. Canucks were getting dominated.
I think the button hook is creeping back in to Gaudreau’s game, and I really think the team needs to find a way to get Ruzicka back in the lineup. Thought Vladar looked shaky but settled in nicely. Kylington especially I thought was brilliant for the first half of the game. Just ok for the rest.

Maybe Cassie give some credits to poor opponents because Flames are so good in her opinion

No cap space. We'll see him in the playoffs, I'm sure, or as the first callup if forwards are injured.

Yeah, unless Johnny is getting a breakaway or 2 on 1 feed (where he's hugely improved this year), he puts on the breaks before engaging defenders and hangs around on the outside again. A lot of impossible angle shots.
We're going to need a braver Gaudreau in the playoffs. There won't be an abundance of breakaways as teams are more responsible. He will need to take the puck to those dangerous places and protect it a little more.
He basically just needs to do exactly what Mangiapane does.
Driving to the front of the net whenever possible. Even when there doesn't appear to be a clear lane.

Hiring an actual NHL coach helped as well. Getting probably the greatest coach of this generation really helped.
