For the people who are saying "he got the puck first", that hasn't been the rule for years.

https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-announc...eason/c-730165

Quote:
The rule relating to "Tripping" will be revised to specifically provide that a two minute minor penalty will be assessed when a defending player "dives" and trips an attacking player with his body/arm/shoulder, regardless of whether the defending player is able to make initial contact with the puck.

But, in situations where a penalty shot might otherwise be appropriate, if the defending player "dives" and touches the puck first (before the trip), no penalty shot will be awarded. (In such cases, the resulting penalty will be limited to a two-minute minor penalty for tripping.)

Still some work to do. Gotta tighten up defensively and cut down the mistakes. Don't give them any life, even when it's 5-0, 5-1

Sutter not happy

Wow, another excellent penalty call...NOT! Gosh, NHL referees are so knowledgeable and talented.

I think Sutter was more pissed about the penalty call.

Yes but officials have an agenda against the Flames.

Guys, getting the puck first doesn’t matter anymore. It was a fair penalty under the current rules. Relax.

I agree, but let's know the rules, otherwise we're no better than Canucks fans.

It was the right call.

A few years ago the rule was changed.

It became a penalty , even if you touched the puck first and then took the player down.

I should have used green text sorry.

There’s no agenda and as you point out it was a fair enough call.
