The Flames are 17-9-3 in conference matchups. Calgary averages 9.4 penalty minutes per game, the sixth-most in the Western Conference. Milan Lucic leads the team serving 69 total minutes.
The Canucks have 20 games left in the season and likely need to win at least 14 of those games to have a chance at the playoffs. Until Thursday’s stinker against Detroit, they’d been scoring goals in bunches and will want to get their offence back on course.
The Flames need to avenge the last 7-1 ass-kicking from these same Canucks. Had a chance to go to this game as well but the last time was so embarrassing and not fun I declined.

Well at the very least the Flames should be as well rested as you can be for the 2nd of a back to back game as last night was not a typical Flames high effort game.

Bigger problem in the 23 man roster limit which they are at without Ruzicka.
All they would need to do is place Richardson or Ritchie on waivers and after they clear could call up AR and send the other guy down.
Thing is I believe Sutter wants to try Jarnkrok at C for a bit and see what he has there. After the trade deadline though, Rosie can be called up without anyone going down but they still need to meet the cap constraints and will still have to waive someone
At this point in the season, I'd be surprised if the team exposes any player on waivers.
I get that Richardson and Ritchie are pretty much dime a dozen players, but I imagine Sutter wants them around for the playoffs. Why give another team the chance to screw you over?
Dare I say the Flames were looking ahead to this game a bit last night because of the last game in Vancouver?
No matter the result last night, and now it’s amplified, I expect the Flames to be really strong tonight to avenge. At 3-0 last game you could easily say the Flames had as many chances. Then Markstroms blade came off and it was a runaway.
