They know that’s not Tkachuk right? It’s Katchouk.

Default Brandon Hagel + 2x4ths to TBL for Boris Katchouk, Taylor Raddysh, 2023 1st, 2024 1st

Sure, Hagel has a high shooting percentage, but he is the kind of player that even when the scoring dries up he contributes in a ton of different ways. Really effective at puck retrieval and setting up his linemates. Draws a ton of penalties too.

Versatile, can play anywhere in your lineup and signed for dirt cheap for 2 more years.

Chicago did well, but when you’re in Tampa’s position you have no choice, but to go all in. Will get 3 playoff runs with him. I like it for them.

Also, getting two 4th’s back is shrewd as well. For a team that drafts as well as Tampa I think the gap between a late first and an early 4th isn’t as big as it looks on paper.

You know you're generally out of touch with things when a team trades two first round draft picks for a guy you haven't even heard of, lol. And my favorite team drafted him too.

I had no idea who Hagel was until his name popped up this morning. You're not alone.

Two firsts and Katchouk and Raddysh both look like they could be solid bottom six players, if they continue to progress this year and next. Blackhawks getting the absolute most out of an asset, when they know they are not going to be contending while Hagel was on that insane deal. Good work hawks.

Seems like an insane price to me...Tampa gets a pass. Flames do this and they would be getting roasted around the league for sure. That's what 2 cups get you I guess.

Honestly at the AHL level Raddysh and Katchouk were better offensive players than Hagel, some of their underlyings are actually better - they've just been trapped on 4th line on a deeper team.

I wonder what they look like with ice time with Debrincat and Kane.

When you win nobody cares how you got there. Ask Flames fans how much they care about losing Brett Hull for Ramage and Wamsley.
