What was the Oilers portion of the ATL from? Have they given up even commenting on Calgary games and we’re mining salt from their own?

Average?

The top line were players 3-4-5 in terms of expected goal splits at 68%

I really like Flames coach Sutter. For one , he is an amazig coach that can indentify players strengths and get the most out of them. He has Zadorov and GudBranson playing amazing best career years and looked like crap everywhere they played until now. I dont think those two were ever used correctly but Sutter knows how and where to play them to make them effective. I can see amother team sign of of those two and they fall on their face because they are asked to do too much or not used correctly.
Pretty astute observation from a fan that's 2 time zones, and 3 divisions away

I was impressed by the Devils last night - they came to play

They've pretty much given up providing us fodder for the ATL. I think they may have caught on. Hahaha

What a great season!!

Take it all in. Enjoy it. Don't get wound up too tight in this forum. There is room enough for all opinions. God damn this feels good.

It is ridiculous that if the Flames are winning, everything else in my life seems to go better by about 50%. It can even take the sting off of some stressful moments in my life.

Go Flames Go!!

I think it is just looks average for them. Compared to nights where they are regularly globetrotting (globetrottering?) the other team in the offensive zone.

They have created a high standard for their line.

I thought that was Monahan's best game in a while, and he's had a few recently. Especially the first period, his puck control was noticeably good, made some nice outlet passes in his own zone. Been said a lot this year, but if can rediscover a bit of touch with the puck that's a game-changer for our lineup. If we can do a bit of cap gymnastics and Monahan keeps it up, I'd like to see something like:

Coleman-Backlund-Jarnkrok
Mangiapane-Monahan-Toffoli
Dube-Ruzicka-Lewis (or scratch one of them for Lucic)

I would assume with Jarnkrok entering the lineup we've seen the last of Ritchie for a bit but who knows. It was quite a roller coaster of a game for him last night.

As for line ups with Jarnkrok around, I'm guessing he starts off on the wing until he has a few games with the team then gets his shot at C.

Also, hats off to Zamler for that beer drinking gif. That was one of the greatest things I've seen, and I have the internet.

The best plays Monahan made were in his own zone or the neutral zone. He had two knockdowns of aerial passes which were really nice hand-eye examples.

Sutter specifically mentioned the 6 minutes in PK that Ritchie caused (without naming names).

Yeah exactly this. They were making some looks and controlling the play but they do that every night. For them 5 points as a group is just average, especially considering 3 of them were on the EN.

If they were on and clicking last night this game could have been over a lot sooner than it was.

There was beer drinking in that gif?

Probably meant scoring wise compared to their usual torrid pace, johnny and lindy with 0 pts before the ENG, Depth came through and it has been coming through.. unlike other years

So since last deadline, we lost Bennett, Ryan, Leivo, Nordstorm... and added Coleman, Toffoli , Lewis and Järnkrok... (up front)

Just wow.

I saw a Flames fan went into their ATL thread and made a comment on how CP gets laughs from their comments on our wins. Flames have a pretty brutal group of regular posters on that site

Yeah I saw that. Though I can’t believe that’s the first time they’ve figured it out. I think the difference is there’s really nothing for them to chirp about this year. Calgary is winning and it’s obvious it’s not smoke and mirrors.

The regular flames posters on HF are not actually flames fans. It's the only explanation.

It's not. I think one of their mods has been cleaning it up lately to try and rob us of some joy.
