Monahan had a really good game, unfortunate not to score...goalie robbed him but had no idea where the puck was

Would you be thrilled if the Flames goalie complemented the other team after an ass kicking though. I probably wouldn't

Right now? No.

But if we were a rebuilding team like the Devils who were playing an out of conference powerhouse that we didn’t really have a rivalry with and our goalie spent 8 years in that teams organization before coming here? I wouldn’t really care.

Overall, very strong effort from the bottom 6 tonight, some nice chemistry right from the drop of the puck. Thought they were the best players on the ice and drove the play. Nothing quite like a trade that lights the fire under someone. Going to be very interesting to see who comes out of the lineup as there was no obvious candidate of the bunch. Perhaps we see Jarnkrok skip Friday to learn the systems more and we get another viewing of the same line up. Doubt that’ll happen though.

This.

The guy obviously has ties to the organization and many of the players. We barely see him anymore. He said some nice things.

Not sure what the problem is. I respect him for being honest. He's buddies with some of the players and hopes they do well. He's not being a jerk about it. I respect him for it.

Nice that Gillies acknowledges Bread, speaks to both of their characters. Gillies looked pretty solid from what I saw as well.

That's how'd I roll on Friday and see where it goes.

Dube with a strong game at C, albeit against poor opposition. Id give him a whirl with Mangiapane and Toffoli. If he can raise his game, could be a bonafide 2nd line.
Then Coleman-Backlund-Jarnkrok, and Lucic-Monahan-Lewis. Swap Monahan and Dube as needed.

I like that combination, but just for fun here is another combination I think could work:
Duh-Obviously-No ####
Mangiapane-Backlund-Toffoli
Coleman-Jarnkrok-Dube
Lucic-Monahan-Lewis

Tyler Toffoli has now celebrated 11 wins with the Flames...
Montreal has 16 wins over the entire season.

I was cheering for Gillies in the third period.
I never, ever do that with an opposing team's goalie. A first for me.

Him and Parsons I've always had a soft spot for. Wanted to see them succeed, whether that was here or elsewhere.

If Vladar said good things about a Bruin who he spent years in the minors with, and respected, I would think it was a classy move. But that's just me.

When players aren't allowed to compliment the other side AFTER the game, it's probably time to ask ourselves what the hell we're doing here.
