2nd,3rd, and 7th with 50% retained? And those will be no better than mid-round picks, in all likelihood. For a utility forward with Jarnkrok's playoff experience, the Flames did not overpay.

Three best friends playing the sport they all love, together. On the same team, getting paid millions of dollars. That's a dream. They're gonna have a hell of a time.

If you're Johnny & Chucky, why on earth would you want to leave this situation? Incredibly close locker room, positive vibes, players who play for each other every night, in addition to being a cup contender.

I don't know if it's Sutter’s influence, but Treliving seems to have progressed a level. He has always been strong at managing assets, but he is doing a much better job filling gaps and finding fits.
I would rather overpay a little here and there for the right pieces. This team fits together really well and has a real identity for the first time in his tenure.
