Unless they somehow move Monahan now, or maybe Dube, you have to think they’re done.

On a junk team too.

You have to think the Flames will have a leg up due to the familial connection.

Isn't he also coming off a 2 x 6 contract (in his prime, no less)? Appears he's rather reasonable in his demands.

Probably, but a good bit of business to get this seemingly required player done now. Price is less than in 5 days and frees up time for Tre and team to unearth something else.

Never know what may happen in the next few days and who may become available, as a rental or with some years left, so not having too many needs and being able to be active with some wants, will be good.

I still think another D man if they can swing it, nothing flashy if it's just a rental. If it's a Monahan or Dube or Pelletier, it would be for something more substantial.

Still think a depth D is in the cards. Maybe one that has even cleared waivers already if they don't want to subtract from the roster.

You’d think a guy who played his whole career in one city until he was exposed to Seattle might value a retirement contract in a good city with his cousin, plus the other Swedes.

You'd be surprised how creative GMs can be with near-zero cap.

I could still see a bottom 6 guy or bottom pairing d-man coming in.

I wonder if any of the other trades or signing today was the catalyst for this, such as pending offers with a pile of these same picks on standby for Hertl or something.

They’d have to move someone though.

That's how I'm looking at it. And I'd see Jarnkrok as pretty even with Glencross when he left in terms of value.

Good middle six player that can chip in goals at ES.
After that season, Glencross never played another NHL game. Jarnkrok today is > than 2015 Glencross.

not if the D has already cleared waivers. He could be assigned to the AHL and called up.

Doesn't seem like an overpay to me, looks like it's one of those 'good trade for both teams' moves. Great job by Treliving. He'll fit in perfectly.
