What? No! Not Frank the Tank! I love that guy.
This is just a reflection on his salary and how Marchment made him expendable. He isn't a very complete player, but he does tend to score big goals at important times. I thought he'd be worth more than a 4th round pick to be quite honest.

You would think if they were going to move him for that little it would be out of the conference. Maybe no takers, in my limited viewings he seemed like a good player.

Florida is another team that has to go for it right now. They are also in cap trouble for next season and are going to have to shed some bodies. Strange to see them dump some scoring depth. They must have targeted a veteran defenseman and need the space? Chiarot finds his new home? Numbers are close.

Friedman said yesterday that he has heard that Giroux's top preference is the Panthers over other contenders.

Giroux on the Panthers would make them pretty scary, but I don't see scoring as a major need for them. They need an extra defenseman, and a solid one at that. If I were the Panthers I would take Giordano over Giroux and be further ahead IMO. Unless they think Lundell is going to crash in the post-season, they look solid up front.

This. I'm surprised they even got a fourth for him since he's been a healthy scratch for them a lot. Solid bottom six player though, speed and great shot and works hard. But if healthy he would be sitting for the Panthers, this is purely a cap dump for them.

Weeger, Ekblad, Chychrun is a good young defensive core if Florida can get that done.
I like Vatrano for a 4th for the NYR too.
