This week will feel relaxing compared to the schedule the Flames just finished, with five games in seven nights. They had a day off Monday, a refreshing breather, and will start their next stretch of four games in seven nights.
The Flames have beat the Devils the last seven straight meetings, out-scoring them 33-19 in the process, including a 5-3 win back on Oct. 26. It was Calgary’s fourth straight win on their road trip and featured two goals from Andrew Mangiapane. Dan Vladar stopped 27 of 30 shots in his second-ever win for the Flames.
After winning three of four on home ice, the Devils dropped a 6-3 decision on Tuesday to the Vancouver Canucks to open a three-game road trip through Western Canada. Yegor Sharangovich had a goal and an assist on Tuesday in Vancouver, giving him 14 goals and 32 points on the season through 54 games.
I’m hoping the Mangiapane-Ruzicka-Toffoli line can find chemistry and contribute almost as much offence as the top line 5 on 5. Spreading out the scoring on the stretch drive leading into the playoffs should have the whole team confident and make matchups a nightmare for opponents.
Go Flames!

With the Devils playing tired and the flames now rested after their 5 in 7 marathon one would think this to be a cake walk game. All the more reason not to take the Devils lightly, lots of fire power in that lineup!
8-2 flames (lol )
Johnny x 2
Gudbranson
Monahan
Loooooch
Lindholm x 2
Toffoli

Six goaltenders have played multiple games for the Devils this season. They kind of remind me of young guns Flames. No goaltending, a few mediocre veteran players and a bunch of young players with low to middle ceilings. I just don't know what they are trying to build there or why they gave Hamilton a 7 year contract when Subban was finally coming off the books.

that's an interesting comparison. I think 98-99 was the Flames crazy goalie year- comparing those, the comparison would even allow for one or two of the young Devils to have a high to very high ceiling
that Flames team had 2 high end (essentially HOF caliber ) older talents (Housley, Fleury)....compare Hamilton/Subban
and ultimately 2 elite young HOFers (Iggy/St Louis), but the issue is you couldn't really have pulled those 2 out (Iggy sure) of the broader list of young players that ended up being either never good , or disappointing or just topping out as average or thereabouts

You didn’t mention him, but if you think Jack Hughes is one of those young players with a “low to middle ceilings”, you haven’t watched much of him.
Kid is a talent. More than a PPG this year and he’s only 20.
He’s gonna be a fun one to watch progress.

Ditto for Jesper Bratt. Kid is a stud
