Not being cryptic. Just it's a total Orange Julius rumor. I know the 3rd party has close ties to people in the know. Just that a beleaguered player is being scratched and would be moved soon. It's not a veritable source so I'm wary of going further than I posted.

If we could land Zacha, and the price lessened significantly by taking a 50% retained Subban, would you do it?
Say Monahan went the other way with whatever got the deal done.
I'm spit Ballin here because I really want Zacha as a Flame.
The bonus is Subbans contract goes away at the end of the year so he'd be a pure rental and added depth.

I would jump for joy to aquire Zacha-he checks a lot of boxes for us. I wouldn't take Subban though-I've always felt he was a dressing room cancer, and we sure don't need that right now. A few years ago, when you typed in "Subban Fight" into YouTube, it was all videos of PK fighting teammates in practice, or yelling back and forth with them on the bench. No thanks.
