Jost to me seems like he's settling into Jankowski territory. If you look at the player and don't consider where he was drafted there's not a lot to like.

Avs are bulking up to be able to play the Flames in the playoffs.

Avalanche are telegraphing a trade that requires cap. Agree with the Giroux speculation, which is gross.

I don't think you have watched Jost play. His metrics are awful, which is one of the reasons why he doesn't play as often. He's okay defensively, but his skating doesn't match the Avs style. He also plays big for a smaller guy, not in a good way though. He'll slow down to protect a puck as if he's Joe Thornton, then he gets bodied and has the puck taken away. He will try power moves that result in easy giveaways. There's room for him to grow if he gets into the right team, but he really hasn't demonstrated much, and has mostly regressed (last year was a decent year for him).

Jost is not an impact player. At 23 the book is far from written, but from dozens of viewings ( I used to live with a die hard Avs fan), he is a Jankowski type player. Always leaves you wanting more, and given a long leash due to his draft position.

Surprised that MIN is taking on any additional cap, next year starts the severe penalties from the Parise/Suter buyouts which gives them 12.7M in dead cap.

Only reason for COL to do this is cap space
And the only reason for them to create cap space is in preparation for another (bigger) trade

Yeah their cap situation is horrific for the next 3 years. A rough time to be a Wild fan for sure.

Ray Shero has always loved Tyson Jost. I feel like he had a hand in this, being a senior advisor to the Wild now.

The Manson trade improved their blueline. Completely different animal

I thought their blue line was pretty darn good, myself. I think Manson is a shell of what he was.

Their D is fast and offensive, but not very physical. He is just what they needed, IMO. Especially if they think the path to the finals goes through Calgary.

Maybe - I thought they are physical enough (and Manson spends a lot of time defending because he's not good at moving the puck).

It will be when they get scored on because he's on the ice. I just haven't been impressed by Manson since 2018 or so.

This is the same argument fans make about every bottom pairing Dman. But it matters what team you're on, and what role you're given.

Posters here are slotting him middle pairing. I don't see it. Who are they dumping off the lineup anyway? Murray? Byram? McDermid?
