I've seen a few different tweets saying Freeman to Jays.

one of the leading stories on mlb.com is about Freeman and they don't even mention the Jays. "Dodgers, Dodgers, Dodgers, Dodgers, Yankees, Dodgers"
Which gives me hope that it might be the Jays!

Maybe a back up plan if Freeman doesn't sign? He is a lefty bat and plays primarily LF.

Schwarber is kinda garbage in the field though I think? I'm assuming he'd be pretty much a full time DH.

I’d happily take either one. As far as bat goes, they are both exactly what our lineup is missing

Yeah, either bat would be great.
Would rather have Freeman, but we don't need another 1B. Having another OF would push Grichuk down

I shouldn't do this without confirmation, but I can't help myself
1. CF Springer
2. 3B Vladdy
3. 1B Freeman
4. SS Bo
5. DH Schwarber
6. RF Teo
7. LF Gurriel
8. 2B Biggio
9. C Jansen
Aye aye aye....

Hmm. Interesting stuff. One or both don't really fit the Jays glaring holes. But Freeman would be a great platoon at 1B/DH with Vladdy. I do wonder if signing someone like schwarber means they're looking at trading Gurriel for a 3B. A package like Gurriel, Kirk, and picks/prospects might get it done for Ramirez. The Indians would get a couple big leaguers who can hit and are super cheap. The wheels are definitely turning.

AA almost in tears announcing the Olson acquisition becuase it means the end of Freeman there, becuase sounds as if the guy is a incredible person I'm the community there.
But, his last swing as Brave was a HR in the WS and last catch was to clinch a WS, so time to move on.

I think the price for Olson probably mirrors the price for Ramirez. I would imagine the ask begins with Gabriel Moreno and Orelvis Martinez.

Love Freeman the bat, and don’t get me wrong I’d be giddy, but it feels like an awkward fit with Vladdy. Don’t like the idea at all of him moving to play 3B if that’s in the cards.
Springer is also likely to need some DH days, especially on the RC turf.
Is there any chance they could move Gurriel back into the infield, play some 3B?

I was wondering about that too.
We have seen that Atkins/Shapiro have a history of acquiring players and slotting them into unfamiliar roles and it having quite a bit of success. Semien going from SS to 2B, granted that isn't necessarily as huge a learning curve as say going from 1st to 3rd.
I wonder if they feel that value of having a left handed bat is greater than slotting players in their traditional positions of strength. I remember Atkins talking about the power of having alternating righty/lefty bats in an order.

Baerga apparently back peddled on the Freeman to the Jays "insider info".
Supposedly the Dodgers, Yanks, Rays, Jays and now Red Sox are all trying to land him. Come on Freddy, come play in Canada.
If the Jays don't get him it's not the end of the world, but I'd hate to see him with any of those other AL East teams.

The Toronto Blue Jays are adding a lefty to their bullpen.
The club announced the signing of left-hander Andrew Vasquez to a one-year contract Tuesday morning.
The 28-year-old appeared in two games last season for the Los Angeles Dodgers and did not allow a run, striking out three batters.
He spent two previous seasons with the Minnesota Twins, getting into 10 games and struggling with a 10.80 ERA.

So the usual teams that actually care about winning baseball games and not the 20ish other teams in the majors that basically do nothing.
Is there a better time than now to try and win in major league baseball?
What teams in the Majors would you say actually care about winning game?
Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox, Astros, Giants, Braves, Jays, and sort of the Rays?
