First one of these for me with a baby… who’s finally on a sleep schedule that is. The last one didn’t make a difference.
Took some effort over the last few days trying to slowly transition, and it seems to have worked okay.

Our baby who has been on a solid sleep schedule for 4 months now had just started waking up an hour earlier last week. Really lucked out on that one with daylight savings lol.

Wasn't the time change a little early this year? Not even spring yet and ruining the "Spring ahead and Fall back" saying. Winter ahead? wtf

One of my best friends hates time changes with a passion usually reserved for a cheating ex.
A few years ago he left the bar during spring forward and ranted to the cabbie.
The cab driver trying to calm this clearly drunken lunatic says "It'll be OK, tomorrow's a new day"
To which my buddy utters one of the greatest lines in history "Yeah, a bull**** 23 hour day!"
Happy Daylight Savings Everyone!

I work 12 hour rotating shifts, so the whole 'extra hour of daylight' thing doesn't affect me.
But I find it interesting how I'm always working the 13 hour shift, and not the 11 hour one...

We let people go home an hour 'early' when that happens. Theory is you're paid to be here for 12 hours regardless of what time it is

Which hour do you think we should skip having 911 services for though? If we're picking, I think an hour of overtime is better than an hour of no 911 operators...

I work in emergency services as well, we have overlapping shifts not just 12+12 = 24 hours of coverage. 4 different start times throughout the day. I don't know how 911 does it

This one wasn't as awful as years past. Not sure why, should be the same as every other year.

We are mostly 12+12. We do have some 'short shifters', but we barely have the staff to maintain baseline as it is even with them. If the folks who work 12's left the floor in the hands of the short shifters, especially our night time short shifters (most of them are day shift only) we'd be down all of our dispatchers and 90-95% of our calltakers.

Some day we'll realize 911 isn't a place we should be saving money

Well tomorrow is when it's awful. Sunday for me is fine, but it's tomorrow morning when the alarm rings an hour earlier.

Another great reason to work from home. Reduce “spring forward” related accidents as people adjust this week.

Time change should happen midnight Friday. I know it won't help everyone, but would be good for commuters and kids. I try to adjust gradually over the weekend.

Oddly enough I've never heard this suggestion before, but think it seriously has merit for the majority of people.

More people work Saturday than Sunday, that’ll never fly.
But you could just start your changeover a day earlier. Personally I’ve been adjusting by one minute per day for the last 60 days so today only represented an insignificant shift.

Not sure about in Alberta, but this week in Nova Scotia is March Break. Fantastic idea having March Break the week after daylight savings.
Keeps kids off the roads, gives them a week to adjust and teachers get to be home to adjust too.
