Not sure I buy the explanation, but I'll take it.

EDIT: Watching the replay on a full size monitor, it does look like Wilson's left skate contacts Johnny's right skate. Hard to say what contact occurs between Wilson's left leg and Johnny's left leg (if anything it does look more like a quad (charley horse?) versus a knee): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbSZP-N89TA
Thank the lord!

Though this would almost be the perfect time for a large caphit to need LTIR if we could guarantee the injury would be easily overcome for playoffs lol... the additional cap space would allow us to sup up the roster more!

I went to the game last night and DID NOT boo Ovechkin. To me, it felt like the crowd was booing him because he's Russian. Which is wrong. Booing other teams stars is totally acceptable, but not based on their nationality.

But this morning, I realized he STILL hasn't changed his instagram profile picture. It's STILL him with Putin. That is abhorrent and frankly unacceptable. I am now OK with the booing. He has chosen which side of this invasion he's on. I'm big social media person and didn't realize this till now.

Guys like Kuznetsov, Orlov & Zadorov were not being booed, so that tells you the crowds are smart enough not to just boo any ol Russian on the ice. I don't think other Russians around the league are being booed.

I fully support the booing now and I hope Edmonton goes crazy booing (but I also hope he scores on them and beats Jagr).
Zadorov is also the guy who went out of his way to go up to a kid at the Dome who was wearing a Ukrainian blue and yellow hat and told him "nice hat"

Caps hadn't played since Saturday afternoon...Flames played Saturday got home at 4am Sunday, played Monday, and then last night. Caps were waiting.

I wouldn't read too much into that game the Flames probably still should have won.

Once my dog pooped on a small snow pile, the poo rolled forward into his vision and startled him. He jump and barked mid-poo, causing more poo to fall out of him as he scurried away. That was the stupidest crap I've ever seen...until I opened this thread

And I'm old enough to have seen some crap

16 back to backs...32 games

It's ridiculous

And before someone blames covid they had 14 originally...and almost no home games the first two months.

I doubt Tre will be getting any rental players at the trading deadline unless there are some injuries. However, with Canucks sneaking up, we may see the Flames playing against them either in first or second round. Wouldn't that be something when we beat them again!

I keep saying we should get Hot Dog Phil to pot a couple important goals in the playoffs.

Kessel has fewer goals than Monahan or Lucic and the same as Dube. One more than Ruzicka in double the games.

Francis has blocked so many fans, Pike has to bat clean-up.

Just lately? I feel like he's been annoying the better part of a decade.

The Sharks seem to have managed with Evander Kane.

Of course, they're a US-based team (not, of course, saying that the NHL would do *anything* to advantage a US team over Canadian ones....).

seems almost certain its a summer move

If you are paying to get rid of Monahan so you can put Ritchie in the lineup it seems like a poor move.
He also has a modified no-trade clause with 10 teams. I bet Arizona is on there.

Just wait for Monahan to do something illegal I guess

The giveaway habit has creeped into their game a bit lately, hope we can chalk it up to mental exhaustion. Can't win em all! On to Tampa Bay!

I’ve said this elsewhere, but I bet a lot more players don’t include AZ on NTC lists than you’d think. The only downside of that team is their record, which isn’t the big deal to some players. Lifestyle, taxes, stats for the next contract all can be attractive there.

Boring Sean might jaywalk one day but I’m betting against it.

Flames need to do something so that they have cap for some call ups.

Gawdin, Pelletier, Phillips and Mackey are all knocking on the door for looks.

Very true. Posters here were focused on the referee being the reason for that Oilers goal the other night but it was Coleman who gave away the puck at the blue line that preceded the dump in by the Oilers.

Unlike previous years, though, the Flames don't seem to completely fall apart when they start making small mistakes - I think Sutter has built up some resiliency in this group.
