Oliver is looking a lot better tonight but I think he's fanned on five or six one-timers in a row. Bizarre.

At the game. Why are fans booing OV? I sure hope it's not just because he is Russian during these times.

I can't recall any reason for Flames fans to boo him....

That is 100% on that injured shoulder! There is no way a guy would that much talent can miss so many 1 timers.

Unfortunately I think that's the reason...although some may be joining in because it's fun to boo a top player in the league on the opposing team.

Edit: specifically, his 'closeness' with Putin

He’s been a very big public supporter of Putin. Set up an NHL pro-Putin group a few years ago.

Years ago the Saddledome zamboni entrance was located in the corner of the other zone (where the club seats are). It was early 2000s when they moved it to where it is today.

From what I am know most (or all?) other NHL arenas have the zamboni entrance in the home team attacking end (1st and 3rd period) for the reason that those bounces happen.

Not sure why the Flames made the change!

It's not because he's Russian, it's because he is (or at least has been) one of Putin's biggest supporters.

Nah. We don't generally boo those in the 25+ years I've been attending.

In the 90s, the only reason to come to games was to see the other stars.
