Credit to Sutter for having the balls to dress Vladar tonight. He made a mistake dressing Markstrom last game but made the wise, but tough, decision to put in Vladar and it paid off. Now the Flames can go back to a rested Markstrom and feel more confident giving Vladar more time during this gruelling schedule. If Sutter went with Markstrom tonight, and it didn’t work out, the Flames would be in a bit of a pickle.

Yup. He's not as polished looking as Markstrom (being he is still developing) but he sure has the knack to make big saves when needed.

I am glad Lindholm made that quick pass before they had to change lines. Was worried Backs line would be out there get caught unable to keep up..

Honestly Vlad blew the first goal but he made up for it and played a really good game

He sometimes looks like he's playing right at his edge....hopefully the smoothness will come with time and confidence. Great pickup and he played really solidly after that first goal, which had to deflate him some. Good for Darth!!

Everyone knows Marky is number one, but now Vladar (and his teammates) know that he can step in at any time and against team and win.

Sutter made the call, Vladar delivered the goods. Love it.

Sweeping the Wild then going into Denver with their backup and silencing them speaks volumes.

A rather huge statement about where they fall on the food chain in the West.

I don't care about Vancouver and Montreal games. I'll take rather meaningless "trap game" losses in those games for wins in these playoff-preview match ups any day of the week.

What an awesome physical game by the boys today. Gives me a lot of hope for the playoffs. Just grind em down till they’re dead.

Oh and Johnny 4th in nhl scoring now.

Sutter has a way of dangling a carrot, makes it hard to get back in the lineup if your not playing hard enough. Threw
Vladar out against a tough team amd threw a wrench on the Aves video on Maelstrom.

Vladar kicked out a juicy rebound, but stopping the shot with his paddle from the far side of the crease was heroic and was all that I ask from my goalie. I would blame coverage for that goal.

Mackinnon trying to mess with Johnny at the faceoff. That should count as an extra minus for him on the sheet. Haha, man what a dummy, stupid MacKinnon is.

Biggest surprise for me in this one is that Mangiapane didn't factor into it.

First Flames game I've watched in a bit, new appreciation for the team they are incredible. The OT goal was a beauty, pure willpower to make it happen.

I missed the game but just saw the highlights, wow!

That OT goal by Johnny on that pass off the boards from Lindholm was unreal.

Top line with 9 points, 3 each!

I thought Markstrom would start today but nice surprise and win by Vladar.

Also a good scrap by Lucic.

Big Win!
