Yup here it is: http://calsun.canoe.ca/News/Alberta/...20886-sun.html

Nova Scotia government spokeswoman Angela Campbell admitted the web pitch has attitude.

"It's got a little bit of edge to it...Calgary is one of our key markets," she said, adding she doubts Calgarians will be offended.
Ward 5 Ald. Ray Jones said the campaign should be taken with a grain of salt.

Perhaps I am suffering from Delusional Calgaria?

I know I get blurry vision, but when I'm able to focus I can manage to see that I'm making 4 times what I did in Nova Scotia. I guess I don't have to worry though, as my family can't come to Calgary to do an intervention because they don't make enough money back there to afford to come out here to begin with. Yeah, my best friends and family all live in NS, but I've been here 3 years and none of them have ever come to see me.

It's great if you live there, just so long as you don't ever want to go anywhere and have no desire to spend money because you have none.

Jim is an idiot, I can name the entire Flames roster. How many NHL games will you go to when you move back to Nova Scotia?

The mountains are AB's eqivalent to NS's ocean.

The women here are better looking and the ones that aren't, at least can afford to get breast implants.

"I'm not surprised they're trying to get them to stay or come back because everyone basically leaves once they graduate," said Flynn, 23, who's a dancer and works for a petroleum company.

I knew the price of oil was pretty high but I had no idea that it was high enough to warrant dancers on the payroll. Is it just a lunchtime thing or do they dance around the office all day?

No, Flynn is a stripper. That's how girls pay their way through university back in Nova Scotia. I kid you not.

So anyhow, I was very intrigued by this website and all the opportunities that they apparantly have back in Nova Scotia so I did a little research. I checked the Government of Canada's job bank. Searched for "framer", ONE JOB in the entire province listed. I called the guy, he said I have too much experience. Oh well, so much for moving back to Nova Scotia.

The intervention thing was a good idea but way too long. And nobody had an accent. I think they hired Calgarians to act in in it. I thought people out there talked like Ashley Macisaac or maybe Bubbles.

Depends on where you go in the province. The type of accent and the strength of it depends on what region you are in. Bubbles is from Pictou county and Ashley is from Cape Breton, both are Northern Nova Scotia, ie closer to Newfoundland, LOL!

Yah thats a real good point. Being in 'the big city' I don't notice any accent at all to be honest. You get the odd one, but its quite rare here.

Yup. Its an interesting place. Kind of a town that is starting to get up in size, but wants some of the city stuff while keeping everything at a town level. I think HRM is somewhere around 3 to 5 hundred thousand or so, but it really tries to operate like a town of a couple of thousand, I swear.

Nova Scotia is f'ed over.

They are right. As soon as the kids learn a skill, they are off to another province. I did want to go back home since I have all of my family back there along with some of my friends who didn't escape (one that works the phones at a call centre, a butcher, a drug store manager, etc.). So I found a tech job where the managers treated you like dog crap. They seem to think that since there are so few jobs that they are doing you a favour by hiring you. I may suck at a lot of things, but I'm a damn good systems analyst and they didn't get it through their heads that you have to treat your employees right or else they find something better. So I moved back to Ottawa and now I swear I'm not going back to Nova Scotia *EVER*. Or at least not until I retire.

Ha, Devils. I will be one of those people that "gets educated" and then leaves, although this education is on top of something already. But you are right, everyone loves to come to Nova Scotia: to go to school (off the top of my head, there is probably around 5 universities/colleges/technical schools in the city alone*), come to visit/take a holiday, or come back to retire to.

(*note - this may not seem like a lot on the surface to some. But imagine Calgary having about 3 universities the size of the U of C/U of A, and 2 - 3 colleges all similar to Mt. Royal, and then a couple of technical/art/etc post-secondary schools. Its nuts here).
