Drones are really hard to detect because of their size.
There's other reasons why they haven't attacked the convory. There's a possibility that they are low on missiles. They've been pretty active since the start of the war.
There's also the possibility that the Russian's have found a way to disrupt their command links as well.

From what I read NLAWs have a range up to 800m. Call it half that? I wonder if they could do some hit and runs. I assume if they could, they would. Hopefully the resupply kicks in or the migs help.

In your opinion is it feasible the Ukrainians are drawing them in, like the Russians did to Napoleon & the Soviets to Hitler?
Kinda wishful thinking on my part I know

Is it possible, sure, but I think its unlikely. If you're going to draw someone into a fire sack you want to do it at a unit level. Drawing something with that many vehicles, likely means that your fire sack gets over run.
My gut tells me, and I'm wrong that there's a possibility of a supply problem for the Ukrainian army. I mean with a column that large you want to literally break it down or at the very least attack it while its in column form. If that column gets a chance to deploy into the field, its big trouble.

Yeah, I would assume that its why the column that's coming in is leaving smoking ruins. They're either looking at a map and hitting ambush spots, or the Russians have air or drone recon and hitting those points.
The NLaw has a range of 800 meters, By comparison the Javelin has about 5x the range, that's why its so deadly.
To put it in perspective, the Main gun on a T-72 has a range of 4000 m,
The rumor is that the next gen T-14 main 152 mm gun has a range of over 5 km.
It sounds like the Javelin has been a really effective weapon for the Russians and a obvious surprise as it seems to have no trouble in destroying the T-72/80's.

Israel is in a tough spot, they're friends with America and the Russians, but there is Israel anti-tank weapons heading to the Ukranian military via Netherland.
I'd love to see a couple of advanced Spyder air defense missile systems with the absolutely awesome Python D-5's accidentally fall off the truck in the Netherlands.

Can't they do something to make the road that the convoy is on impassable? Like, take out large sections of the road all along the route into the city?

It is pretty sad that Russia can roll a massive convoy on these poor people.
The Americans have been calling this for weeks. How do they not have disposable quantities of drones and ordinance on hand? I think Trump has tarnished the US image so badly, that now good intelligence has gone ignored, to the detriment of the Ukrainian people.
The whole WMD charade in Iraq, didn't help their case. But this was real evidence. Russia wouldn't go to the expense of amassing resources like this, without pulling the trigger.

The time for that was a few weeks ago, at this point it seems likely the Russians have firm control of the area and so the Ukrainians cant get close enough to the road.
On the brighter side I doubt very many Russians will be to happy shelling the spiritual birthplace of Russians, I suspect there will be more than a few refusals if the new plan is level the city

Have the Russians been using their air force (fighter jets) at all? Or is it just tanks and helicopters?
Perhaps I’m used to a good old fashioned American war which focuses on pummeling everything by air first.

Apparently those numbers are larger than the countries total inventories of airworthy frames of those types. Maybe there's a handful that could be squeezed out, but not 70 or so like has been reported. There's also the whole logistics around operating a plane like that, it takes a team of people on the ground for each one.

Ukrainian may not be as concerned about airworthy as most right now

Those of you here well versed in what's going on can maybe confirm this video if possible, but if this is indeed a vacuum bomb......holy moly.

Seems very confusing. Politico Europe reports that Bulgaria rejected the request as they didn't have enough fighters for themselves.
Quote:
Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov on Monday rejected a request by Ukrainian authorities to supply the country’s airforce with “Mig” fighter jets to tackle Russian air supremacy. Petkov said that Bulgaria had a deficit of serviceable aircraft and parts, and did not have sufficient fighter jets to guard its airspace by itself, a Bulgarian official told POLITICO.

I've also seen comments that Slovakia also rejected the request for aircraft but not yet seen a detailed report or article.
