Good game after the loss last game.
Flames dominated in the first and took advantage of their opportunities in the 2nd period. The 3rd was a bit sloppy.
Hopefully Kylington is ok -- he'll probably be off for a few games.
Like everyone else, I'm really happy with Gudbranson and Zadorov. They are playing way above expectations and getting more confidence every week.

I know he put it on his IG (as posted above) but I wanted to add the second photo as well which shows him high fiving through the glass. You do love to see it — and you can tell the young guys on the other side of the glass were loving it too:

It was so nice to see them bounce back after the tough loss on Thursday.
I admit that I was worried the bubble may have burst when they struggled coming out of the COVID layoff, especially when they came back home and lost to Ottawa. But this team is making me more of a believer with every passing game now.
We might have something here. Big, tough, physical, play fast, possession monsters, top team defensively, above average offensively as well. Hopefully they can stay healthy. This team is not going to be fun to play against in the playoffs.

Post Covid this looked like the same old Flames, slow starts, no real battle, and no fortitude through a game. Then it just stopped and now they are a juggernaut.
Looks like the players believe it too. I'm convinced that the loss to the Avs in the playoffs 2 years ago hurt this group deeply, left a scar, and the next year they picked up by getting stomped by the Avs again in game one. "Oh crap nothing's changed." But now it has. Big tough D being a big part of it, but playing as a group and supporting one another in all zones. The lazy backchecking and cherrypicking is gone from the forwards, and the D are mobile and confident.

Shout out to the 4th line (and Sutter for putting it together). They were really effective, and in no way did I think Ritchie/Richardson/Lewis would be effective.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

My son and I got a laugh out of the pair in the front wearing the 89 (Oilers suck) and 0 (nucks Cups) jerseys sitting together
Damn this team is good

Boy, the Oiler fans are so butt hurt at the success of our guys, they have to invent all kinds of conspiracy theories.
Ha. Ha. Stupid Oilers. Get bent!

One thing you want from a fourth line is to play hard, take the body and wear down opposing defensemen in their own zone. They did that perfectly.

Also Mavi was part of the greatest and closest sweep series ever.

Uh...?
2014-15 Barrie Colts: 68 games, 43 goals + 61 assists for 104 points
2015-16 Barrie Colts: 59 games, 51 goals + 55 assists for 106 points

Mangiapane was actually a strong 5v5 NHL goalscorer from when he scored his first NHL goal thru to last year.
5v5 Goal Scoring, Feb 09th 2019 through to end of 2021 season
It's pretty impressive what he is doing without an elite centre, but it's not surprising.

Thanks for sharing that fact that it was the same refs from the Vancouver blow out. Makes me feel better about them given how unbelievable the reffing was in Vancouver.

Absolutely. Playoff history is full of lines like that, just playing the game in straight lines, dump, hit, hard hockey.

And the fact he didn’t get much power play time ever accounts for his lower overall points.

I'm almost a broken record about this lately but man...
I am loving the Gudbranson/Zadorov pairing. Big, mean, skilled and chipping in.
