Is it really the peak though? That would imply that we've bottomed out. In reality, we all knew that this would be a loss today. They go out and beat City, and then lose to a relegation battling Burnley. So predictable.

Luis Diaz has looked like a great signing so far. He has settled in incredibly quick.

Leeds are really going to struggle to stay up, they are just so wide open at the back. They gave up 6 and their keeper was still their man of the match.

Once he really gets up to speed and starts converting he's going to be a great add.

It does at times really feel like they're bringing in guys like Jota and Diaz and soon perhaps someone else to gradually phase out the current front 3...

Very true, but man alive are guys like Salah and Mane just amazing.

I'm not sure about Firmino as he's injured somewhat more often, but the other two are just tough as nails and fit as hell. Unfortunately there is no training that defeats time.

The Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, was identified by the Home Office in 2019 as having links to the Russian state as well as to “corrupt activity and practices”, a Labour MP has told parliament, suggesting the UK should seize his assets and bar him from owning the football club.

Chris Bryant told MPs he was quoting from a Home Office document leaked to him, and asked why nothing more had been done about Abramovich’s UK assets given this official verdict.

Raising the issue of tier 1 visas, the sort held by Abramovich, which allow very rich people to invest in the UK, Bryant directly quoted a section of what he said was the Home Office document.

“I’ve got hold of a leaked document from 2019, from the Home Office, which says in relation to Mr Abramovich: ‘As part of HMG’s [Her Majesty’s government] Russia strategy aimed at targeting illicit finance and malign activity, Abramovich remains of interest to HMG due to his links to the Russian state and his public association with corrupt activity and practices,’” Bryant told the Commons.

He went on, still quoting the document: “‘An example of this is Abramovich admitting in court proceedings that he paid for political influence. Therefore HMG is focused on ensuring individuals linked to illicit finance and malign activity are unable to base themselves in the UK, and will use the relevant tools at its disposal, including immigration powers, to prevent this.’”

Bryant added: “That’s nearly three years ago. And yet remarkably little has been done. Surely Mr Abramovich should no longer be able to own a football club in this country? Surely we should be looking at seizing some of his assets, including his £150m home, and making sure that other people who have had tier 1 visas like this are not engaged in malign activity in the UK?”

Manchester United have ended their sponsorship deal with Russia's national airline Aeroflot.

In a statement issued on Friday, United said they had "withdrawn the sponsorship rights" of Aeroflot, who have been the club's official carrier since 2013.

On Thursday, the UK government banned Aeroflot from operating in the country as part of a series of sanctions in a response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Aeroflot is majority owned by the Russian Federation.

A United spokesperson said: "In light of events in Ukraine, we have withdrawn Aeroflot's sponsorship rights.

Premier League players, managers and supporters will be able to protest against the Russian invasion of Ukraine at matches taking place this weekend by displaying the flag of the under-siege country in a show of solidarity.

The FA has a clear kit and advertising regulations, which forbid the use of threatening, abusive, indecent, insulting, discriminatory, political or religious messages appearing on clothing, footwear or other equipment on the field of play.

Under FA rules, however, a country’s flag does not fall into that category, meaning players would be free to show their support to Ukraine by holding one aloft.

The FA has worked hard in recent years to help ensure that English football is an open, diverse and inclusive game, and all actions by players or officials to either protest or show support in relation to international events are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

International flags, however, can be displayed without any issues as they are not deemed to be sending a discriminatory, political or religious message.

Everton fans are one of those expected to show their support for Ukraine by unveiling a banner during Saturday’s match against Manchester City.
