Lol, you can't be serious. Kenney essentially bent the knee to the terrorists and lifted most of Alberta's covid restictions, but the trucker dips***s still wouldn't leave Coutts. It wasn't until the Feds invoked the Emergencies Act that they finally got scared and scattered like the cockroaches they are.

Kenney and the UCP suing the government over this is nothing more than red meat for the convoy Karens and the rest of his deplorable base.

Calgary’s skyline made Last Week Tonight!

The, uh, rest of the segment though…not so flattering to Canada’s protestors.

I'm still waiting for a legitimate explanation for the loss of my freedoms and where I should have felt the moment they were lost. But it's going to be an uphill battle to convince me to take the side against (free) science-based modern medicine, protection against the destabilization of community health, and be against masks knowing we have to also cover our pee pee and corn holes in public whether you want to or not.

Here's an hour long discussion between Jordan Peterson and Rex Murphy. They side with the truckers and fail to see the "emergency" precipitating the Emergencies Act.

I think this entire thing has been a catastrophe for all involved, but I can immediately think of a couple people whose opinions on the matter might be slightly biased.

To be fair, police initially did little to dispel the notion that they weren't siding with the protestors, hence the criticism from people who were opposed to the occupation.

I don't think anyone comes at this from an unbiased perspective. I mean, just take a look at the title of this thread.

After mainly getting my information from this thread, I wanted to hear the perspective from people who supported the convoy but more particularly, those who have legitimate concerns about the Act itself.

Our politics have become so polarized and this whole episode has done nothing to improve things at all.

No offense to you, but for people like Rex Murphy or media orgs like rebel media or fox news or various twitter personalities... The devisivness is the goal.

Once this dies down, they will all move on to the next thing are try to generate outrage. It will work among a segment of the population, then the opposite side will react and they will then complain about how everything is so devisive.

I'm not saying they are always wrong or the devisivness isn't real. But try to understand how the sausage is being made.

Also to be fair, I honestly think the Police, rightly or wrongly, thought these people would be there for a little while, like a day or two, get board and leave. But it obviously back fired and we ended up with this mess. Pretty much making our police forces look incompetent and exposing on a world stage a very ugly side of Canada. But at least that very ugly side is now out in the open and we need to acknowledge and address it head on.

It doesn’t seem like you realize that you’re also a sausage, not just those on the opposite side of the isle.
