I know a couple weeks back that some papers in Miami were speculating that Carr could end up in Miami.

Whats with all the Colts grabbing their rings and running? This season is gonna suck. I don't know how deep the Colts are at all the positions they are losing players at, but you can't repeat after losing atleast half a dozen, if not more, players. Are you kidding me?
I hop Dungy has a plan here, cause it hurts every time I see another Colt sign somewhere else.
EDIT: I guess he was released, but still...

Broncos and Giants discussing a potential deal that would have Wilson head to NY. More talks on Green to Miami and Culpepper to the Raiders.

He has been for serveral years now.
He had 18 tackles in one game this past season. I love the guy...his leadership is unsurpassed in the NFL.
This is the downfall of the salary cap. Teams that draft well can't keep all of their players forever...and the NFL trade scenarios are rarely equitable.

Its so much differant than the NHL. Carr in the right situation might be a very good QB, with some protection and a running game. And some team is going to pick him up for nothing. Same with Cullpepper. This is a guy who came damn close to winning the MVP a few season's ago. But in his situation, I guess you need to factor in wether he is healthy or not.

Green to Miami all but done.
http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/10033511
Quote:
The Miami Dolphins and quarterback Trent Green have all but reached a contract agreement; there no longer is an issue about whether those two sides can strike a deal. The issue is between the Dolphins and the Chiefs. If those two teams can reach a trade agreement, Green will become a Dolphin. Otherwise, Miami could opt to try to sign David Carr, who will be released by the Houston Texans.

Kansas City Star says the Lions are also interested too as Mike Martz used to have Green with St.Louis. Green's preference is Miami because he worked with Cam Cameron in Washinton and the Dolphins QB coach. So if he does get moved to Miami a new contact is pretty much worked out. Anywhere else and who knows.
Looks like the Chiefs are prepared to let Croyle and Huard battle it out in camp for the starters job. I would guess Huard wins it and starts the first few weeks, but Croyle could very well be phased in by the end of the season similar to what the Bronco's did with Cutler last year.

Word out of KC is that Herm prefers Croyle.

How did he fail? from his injury last year?
I've been a broncos fan and a vols fan for a long time, and Al is one of my favorites of all time. But I understand if Shanahan moves him. You are only top tier for so long before the hits catch up to you. The trick is to always buy low and sell high ... this would be selling high.

Evidently it is from the neck injury in the 14th game of the season when he was carted off on a stretcher.
I understand the move too, but frankly I'm happy. I adore Al Wilson and I think his absence would've been a huge blow to the team.
He will be on the Ring of Honor someday.
