I'd love to see some images of the trash left behind to get a sense of what these 'body protectionists' consume on a daily basis. I'm sure there is no shortage of strewn packaging for cigarettes/vape juice, energy drinks, and other heavily processed/unhealthy foods

Can the Ottawa locals just start doing drivebys with water balloons/guns? Freeze the ####ers out of there.

What about the Premier of Ontario? The article says he, and other leaders, avoided protests. Is he not partly responsible for what happened?

He's a conservative so he did everything perfectly.

I do struggle a bit with Ibbitson writing on the current political situation, considering he wrote what is pretty much the authorized bio of the man Trudeau beat to become PM.

He says that Trudeau's divisive talk provoked these protesters. I can buy that to a degree but I would bet the majority of them hated him from day one and couldn't care less about what he says. They don't like him, and they don't like being told what to do, so they threw a fit all over our nation's capital.

I wouldn’t recommend it, but sure, why not?

Totally. It was less about what they were being told to do, and who was telling them to do it. This is why Ford and Kenney largely escaped criticism from these same people.

I mean, Trudeau says some stupid things from time to time... absolutely. But come on... those stupid things didn't cause this.

Far right provocateurs... now those guys deliberately say incredibly stupid things incredibly regularly. That's what caused this.

Guaranteed the great majority of those “protesters” have never even seen footage of Trudeau speaking about anything at all. They also definitely haven’t read any long form journalism on political issues. Their view of the world is through poorly written Facebook posts.

Trudeau has played cynical politics of division, but he has also been hated by these people since before he became PM. Trudeau must share SOME blame but it takes two to tango and these folks and their enablers were spoiling for a fight.

Precisely. “Don’t tell me what to do!” Is one of the Biggest factors in this whole thing. These idiots:

A. Hate Trudeau

B. Are tired of the pandemic (As are we all)

C. Most importantly, hate being told what to do while at the same time being dumb as a rock

Yeah, I agree it has been violent, just didn't want to get into that debate,

With that said I didn't noice the tow trucks have had to totally cover up all the signage on their trucks and wear full (neon green) ski masks so this mob doesn't identify them.

I posted earlier that a bunch of nitwits had gathered at the War Museum, outside the red zone and thus outside the area protected by Emergency Measures. But, I was, like, fine. Whatever. Nobody lives at the War Museum. Let them sit in the cold and hoot and holler all they want. They have no horns to bother people even if it was a residential area, which it is not. I was never against their right to protest. I was against their right to assault, harass, honk their horns at levels that cause hearing loss and depriving people of the ability to sleep for days on end forcing many to flee.... but protest, fill yer boots.

*HOWEVER* Ottawa Police tweeted that they are well aware of many children being in the protest. The children are running around seemingly unsupervised on the sidewalk of a road that is 60 KPH, but people are often driving much faster than that.

These people are morons. You can't negotiate with morons.

If nothing else, we've learned this much from the House of Commons alone.
