Disappointed that uncharted is so bad. One of my favorite game series of all time for sure, but figured it would be awful with their casting choices. Tom Holland? Mark Wahlberg? Why chase big names that don't remotely resemble the characters.
This is just like American Assassin for me, where they took my favorite book series and absolutely butchered it.
Hopefully they get the Gray Man right, because the casting is also off. Going for the big names instead of actors that fit the description.

Who said it was a waste of time or that I didn’t enjoy it?
Do you guys seriously think all movies that aren’t best picture nominees are a waste of time and make you angry for watching them? Not every movie can be an art house indie.
It was hilariously bad but it was big and loud and action packed. Plus, the person who took me seemed think it was great. I didn’t get all the references and Easter eggs because I’ve only played the first game years ago. I didn’t think it was a great movie but I still enjoyed the theatre experience for what it was, a big loud action adventure movie. I was under no misconceptions that I was seeing a well scripted and serious film. I also don’t care at all that Holland and Marky Mark look nothing like Drake and Sully. I thought Holland was his usual charming self and Antonio Banderas plays a great villain with his gravely voice and accent.
If I was picking the movie, I probably would have gone to see Death on the Nile but sometimes we do things for the benefit of others and that makes it enjoyable all on its own.

Location: A simple man leading a complicated life....

I saw Belfast on Friday night. It's based on the true story of Kenneth Branagh growing up in Belfast and fleeing the troubles of living in Ireland in the 60's when the Catholics and Protestants were fighting. I found it interesting that it was done in black and which which I found added to the storyline. Music from Van Morrison was a nice touch.
It's up for best picture at the Oscars.

The Worst Person in the World is a great love story mixed with a (late) coming-of-age story. The scene where Julie, the protagonist, runs away from her boyfriend into her new lover's arms as time stands still is beautifully done.
Just saw this last night. I really enjoyed it as well. Well written, well acted and compelling from beginning to end. It had a bit of everything. It was funny, incredibly sad, serious, and hopeful.
I treat bad-looking movies as comedies so I often stll get value out of them. But they have to be a certain kind of terrible.
I don't think Uncharted looks like the funny bad kind though. Mark Wahlberg when given a bad script is one of the harder actors to watch.
He only works in tandem with a funny character as the serious/rigid character that is dragged along begrudgingly on some escapade, or having his life ####ed with.
The Last Duel was better than I expected. Dare I say really good. I'm not a huge fan of overly long movies but it was required in this case to tell a story essentially three times over from three different perspectives. It's a real shame that it bombed like it did at the box office although I suspect a lot of the intended audience still wasn't going to theatres at that time.

If they saved its release for the first two months of this year I think it would've done pretty well. The current line up is very underwhelming.
I would've also re-worked the trailer to be more appealing to the masses. Even though the one they did was creative, I don't think it did it for many people.
Should've leaned on the fighting and pushed the 'director of Gladiator' angle.
I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone choose to watch Jonah Hex. In a surprising twist once you begin watching it you realize the plot is entirely nonsensical, it’s poorly paced, no one even chews enough scenery to make it worthwhile, and it appears to have had several major scenes removed for fun.
Josh Brolin, John Malkovich, Micheal Fassbender, Micheal Shannon, Will Arnett, and none of them can even make it bad good? This film was truly a triumph in crap

Just watched the original King Kong from 1933 for the first time in a few years. It's the original popcorn movie, and it's still beautiful in all its jerky stop motion, black and white glory.
One of my earliest memories is getting out of bed late at night when I was 5 or so and finding my dad watching a late night broadcast of the original King Kong, and being allowed to stay up and watch is with him. I’ve watched it several times since and it still holds up.

My favourite part of Jonah Hex was the plot is so thin that a good chunk of the climax is a literal flashback to the beginning of the movie. I think it clocked in at like 80 minutes too. Big yikes.

I saw Death on the Nile tonight. It was alright. If you've read the book, they changed alot and combined characters, which happens. Thought Gal Gadot was miscast. She's Wonder Woman, not some fragile scared for her life heiress.
However, if you don't know the story, and don't know enough to nitpik, it was pretty well done.
